  2. ***anium drill bit would make fast work of those, I bought one for the used manifold I put on that O/T van and wish to hell I'd tried using one of them sooner. Almost like drilling into wood.

Now, you want fun, go lay in the snow to reach under a van to hacksaw through the exhaust pipe. Can't bring a sawzall to the you-pull-it place... and even if I was in better shape, position wise it works out to trying to saw through something that's about 18 inches above your head.

At least at -15 the snakes or the wasps won't bother you.

I take the dogs out in just my drawls almost all winter. We don't get quite that cold here in NJ, but it does get quite nippy.

-15 that's crazy. Heck I was asking myself what my brother and me were doing going to north central Arkansas to pick up a cab over he bought. It was only nine degrees and there was a light snow falling. Luckily the guy had a tractor to push it up on the trailer so we were loaded and heading home in 15 minutes. Then I scored me a merc flathead today so we did all right this weekend.

Going in the cold is the best in Indiana because the bugs and weeds and other animals aren't out.

My fingers did get a bit cold when i had to take my gloves off, but what can you do.

suprisingly i didnt really get cold, you start to walk, my tool bucket was heavy, so movement kept me pretty warm

And yes, we are very lucky to have a junkyard like this around.

  8. Like to have froze to death junkyarding at Yarbrough's and Summerville's here yesterday, and it was about 20 above. It is good not to have to worry about snakes and other critters, but about 40-45 is enough to take care of that problem.

yep...kinda cool down here as well...went around to pick up my presents from the old strays/guard dogs...have them trained to leave them just off the path...just in case someone wants to sneak in...man - that **** was hard...

OK ***us, now you've made me feel guilty....

For some strange reason, in the last 2 weeks I've had a ton of PMs from Hambers digging up my cl***ified ads from last fall. I've blown off every one because I don't feel like trudging through the snow into the boneyard and wrenching at -20.

Now you make me feel like a wuss.

And I have the nerve to call myself a Minnesotan!

On the other hand, I did pull a few walleyes out through a hole in the ice today.

I used to do stuff like that too when I was a bit younger. We used to ice race our motorcycles every weekend and then ride the river for fun too. Now its just too damn cold to have fun like that anymore. On a sad note I read in the paper today about a guy that died after he was found in a snow bank outside the local ***tie bar where he p***ed out after having too much fun drinking there. So be careful out there!

Hey Jeff how's it going? Made me feel guilty that I haven't worked on the Caddy lately so I had to do it. Only thing is I waited till yesterday and it was 15 above. No heat or room in the garage so I had to roll it out in the snow covered driveway so I guess that still counts.

my buddy goes there many times each year, he says it's a goldmine of rare mopar parts, he always has a truck and trailer full each time for his customer cars, i want desperately to go, but haven't been lucky enough yet.

on the cold note, that's not too bad, but has anyone been stupid enough to swim in the south basin of lake Winnipeg in April or May ? I have and have had to make way through the mini ice flows....kinda like polar bear dipping. brrr.

you wanna talk about shrinkage? George Costanza has nothin on me ....and that is nothing to be proud of.:D
