$5.00 a head to get into the yard and walk around which was paid to one of the stand ins from Deliverance.

Went thru the whole joint looking for a real 312 "Y" Block-none to be found.

I must admit that there were more two door wagons of all flavors (mostly trashed and hardly salvageable) then I have ever seen in any boneyard.

I guess a day scopein out old cars is better than working.

I do recall seeing several ´57 Coupes, a ´56 4dr HT, a mostly stripped ´55 Convertible, and two ´59s; a Coupe and a 6-window 4dr hardtop. This was during my visit in Sept 2008, there were probably others, too. He did have a lot of hulks out there.

Here is the information some of you have been looking for. Pictures of some of the cars in the summer. Also an update of whats currently going on there in the yard. Says only 700 cars left out of 900 total. Was off a little with the 1500 cars. Lots and lots of parts yet also.

This is suppose to be the old yard that was called out on a Ford website:

The yard is suppose to be in Dover, PA?

  10. I can't imagine they could be doing too much right now with all the snow we are getting hammered with. Perhaps a reprieve for a couple months? Anyone local know what is currently going on?

So let me see if I got this right.
Someone else is supposed to wander through the woods photographing and accurately do***enting 600 - 700 vintage cars so you can tell if there's anything that might interest you?
    Are you near the location?
(Oh wait, my bad! I see your location is listed as "USA", so you're right around the corner, right?)

As far as what I know what is going on from reading the link to "Junk Yard" link is they crushed 200 cars already. Originally there was only 900. Sorry about saying 1500. I was off on my estimate. We just had the ice storm here last night 2nd Feb so I would imagine not much going on maybe today. I am going to try and get into the yard this Sat 5th Feb and will give update and take some pics.

I talked to them this morning and they are currently crushing. Most of the cars in the woods are still there though.

Can you still mark your cars you want and will he set them aside for you when you pay? Any other info you got out of him? Are they still letting you buy stuff or is it strictly in the crush mode no one allowed in to look around or buy?

Sounds good. Still going to head down there Sat if they have the yard dog (deliverance) working. I'm up to 15 bucks (will be 3rd time) already just paying and walking around. Although John did say he would pay me back the $5.00 if I bought cars after I b_tched about it.

He's been crushing for years and he said he would give me a deal on the three 409 engines sitting outside. $4000 without valve covers and intakes sitting out in the weather for years...yeah what a deal. I've found that most cars are $800-1500 and the roof to the 49 Mercury was $800 so I don't think there are too many deals to be had here. A friend bought a Nash and it was $800 and when they pulled it out it broke in half. This guy has a salvage yard in York and moved most of the good stuff...now there are a lot of cars here but I still don't think they are dealing in s**** prices, atleast not to me or the guys I've been there with. Maybe you guys will have better luck.

Everything I have found that was cool was not for sale. I asked about a bike that is still sitting outside and it is not for sale. If it was cool and for sale he wanted the worlds record price. Hopefully things are changing but for years they say they must crush everything by a certain time and another ad or year goes by.

What timeframe or date did you guys get these qoutes? I called and talked to John 3 weeks ago and that's when he said all the cars were being sold by s**** weight. He said average sale per car was around $300-$500 dollars. Has anyone called within the last day or so and got the same story or is he now re-jacking the prices up to $1000's of dollars per car because all of a sudden word has gotton out on a few websites and alot of interest is being generated and his phone is ringing off the hook?? What have some of you members been hearing from him?

Clark was in the yard when the yard dude calls Baughman in York to find out the prices. I've never been to the yard in York just the one pictured here.

Hmm.. that might have been a one or two time case where prices were qouted to you very hight due to rarity of parts you were after. I will have to call again to see what is going on and if cars in the woods to see what kind of prices he wants.

I have been to the older yard back in the early 1980's when it was closed up and the cars were in very bad shape back then I can imagine what they look like now. they use to have a 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible with a huge 30-40 foot tree growing out from inside of the car.
also John Baughman is a friend of mine.
