Uhh, isn't propane more expensive nowadays to use for fuel than gas?

Now that's real fabri-neering!. I like the drivetrain, is it a foreign propane setup, domestic special use or conversion?.

I especially like the Comet as a platform. The Comet has styling cues of the best of the '50's and many advantages of later uni-body construction. But mainly it's one of the last US cars with real - honest to goodness - TAILFINS.

  5. Sweet! How about another engine close-up shot? What paint scheme are ya thinking?
As far as the propane set-up, what is the advantages/disadvantages? It sure is cool looking.

Been a while since I've seen a propane car, neat machine there. Definitely different, and definitely in a good way.

LaGrasta, Propane burns so much cleaner than gasoline that engine wear virtually stops. Less carbon per unit volume I believe. Have personally torn down a 200K propane fired 460 ford, and it wasn't remachined when put it back together. Great crosshatch, no sludge, could have passed for a 10K gas motor internally. Propane cars have been interesting ever since.

Sweet! Now you've got me thinking of a propane conversion for my Comet. What kind of MPG (MPP? Miles Per Pound?) to you get with that? I'm wondering how big a tank I'd need to have a decent range.

I dig it. I like the little Comets. There is one sitting abandoned near me and it's starting to fall apart. It's a shame.

It's bold to put in a propane engine and then all the effort to make it work. Good job.

Having said that -- put the damn front clip back on! The car looks terrible without it. For a custom touch, make a custom tube grille and only run the outermost headlights for an early/mid '60s WIIIIDE look.
