Anyone know of a vendor selling new or used 16" hubcaps? Would prefer something along the lines of a Hollywood Flipper, Lancer or Sombrero, but other options are welcome.
As far as full wheel covers, you won't find any 16 inch lancers or Sombreros. Chevy did offer 16 wheel covers but they are not too common. Maybe you can check Hubcap Mike, or Ebay or Swap Meets. In short, search.
Thanks for the reply. I've been all over the Internets searchin', and have come up dry. I'm hoping to switch to 15" tires and rims sometime this Spring, but figured I'd check here with The Experts regarding 16" in case my plans fall through.
You'll have more choices as far as wheel covers if you switch to 15 inch rims and use 670-15's for that perfect look.
I'm just hoping the the CFO, errr I mean, my wife allows me to spend that money... keep your fingers crossed!
I found these on eBay .. They're in bad shape but for $40 for 4 of them I had to have them because they were 16".. They are missing the flipper.. Don't look to bad painted...
Lyon made a very nice looking aftermarket 16" full wheelcover which was a popular choice on customs of the day, however they don't come cheap, a decent used set is around $300 and mint ones bring even more, unless you happen to stumble across some at a swap meet or something. If you haven't already bought tires, it might end up being cheaper to swap to the 15" wheels.
GMC truck 16 to 15 reducing rings. Part no. 348196. Used on 3/4 ton trucks late 70's to late 80's will mount most 15 inch wheel covers to a 16 inch wheel. Bob example http://hubcapsonwheels.com/product_...=1480&osCsid=264c1462c2965fe8eec3b386477c54fd
Yeah, I REALLY want to do 15s, especially since I need new tires anyway-- she's running 30+ year old Columbias right now-- just now sure if my wife will let me pull the trigger...
I have so,e 16 aftermarket sombreros the centers look cheap but the outsides look good if you're still looking
