I picked up this wheel for a spare and I thought somebody might need these for older cars, its a 16, 5 inch wide with the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. as you can see its sitting on a 8 inch axle. these are found as a spare on 94 and up mustangs, also newer crown vic highway patrol/police cars come with wide steel 16's about 7 inch I think. just dropping a line on what I noticed out there.

Any idea what the backspacing is?

And is the backspacing the same on the wider wheels?

  3. I also got some 16" wheels with a 4 1/2" bolt pat. off a `50`s Dodge truck FWIW.

I'll try to get the info on the wider ones next time I work on a chp car, the 5's are a little bit over 3 inch backspace.

the crown vic ones are 7 inch wide with a regular rear wheel drive backspace. although I believe they changed the backspace for 2003 and up, the track looks wider and the the backspace looks deeper on these.
I also found the spare for 94 and up cobra mustang is a 17 inch steel that is smooth not with the holes like these above, hope this helps somebody find wheels out there.

the inter/dodge truck 16's take 40-48 ford hubcaps too!
try to get the later 60's ones, they are welded to the rim, earlier ones are riveted
Ford Australia produce a 6x16" steelie for utilities, and taxis i think, same row of holes as that space saver above.

Um... mine don`t. I tried to put a `40 cap on my `50`s Dodge truck wheels and the hub cap was to big.
I`ve heard that the International ones take the cap but haven`t seen it for myself.

my mistake on the caps, mine are off an international panel truck, about 62 or so, maybe the dodge wheels are different.
