Go to Ebay and type in "vintage 16" wheel" and see what pops up.

The 49 chev bussisness coupes had 5 lug 4 and 3/4 bolt pattern. This was true on the Chev and Ford 4 1/2 commerical business coupe cars.. At the time factory cost was the main factor .. Fast forward to 1955 /57 most of those cars were wore out and junked. Those old cars that were still driveable changed to 15 inch wheel tire combo.. Good luck finding and old units. I have not seen those 16 five lug wheels in close to 50 years. Plus these 16 wheels were only 4 inches wide.

Yo! If you pine for sixteens why not change that ****er back to the OEM six-lug? There should be a lot of parts around, as well as rims. Back in the day, tire choices were so limited everyone went to fifteens because you could find tires in a variety of sizes, as opposed to the mostly 6.00 x 16's that were to be had where I lived. Early fifties trucks would take hubs and drums from fifty-three & fifty four p***enger cars to turn the fronts to 5x4 3/4"; I used a '57 rear-end and was in heaven with all kinds of tires to choose from. I can't say for sure but it seems logical you should be able to reverse the process. Sell the tires and go with the flow. There's an old Zen proverb that says, very often when you give up, you will find the answer. Good luck Gr***hopper.
