Not to change the subject, but you guys who live in California have it made.......I would be driving to Mexico and having my custom interior done there. I know there are the stories about horse manure for stuffing and being mugged or ripped off, but there seem to be a lot of good shops too, from some of the threads I have seen on here.

Mexicans must be very good at upholstery work in general. On all the car shows the guy who is doing the upholstery seems to be Latino more often than not, and the work looks fantastic.

Pete is the poster boy for reality overdose.....it ain't pretty. See folks, this is what happens when parents don't use their parental controls to block the kids from watching Discovery.

In the street rod world, interiors routinely exceed $10K.

Remember "Bam Margera"? Used to go in and beat the crap outta his Dad all the time? Well dont think Dad wasnt getting bucks-a-blow or other compensation.
    Omar is laughing too.
BTW, I took a convertable F-85 Olds to Tj in the early 70's and they did a fantastic job. $100 dollar car with a $300 dollar interior and top. Including carpet.
Mr. P-n-B, I've allways wondered about "Hoffy" brand hot dogs.

  4. It's changing people perception of what a trim shop/hot rod shop/custom fab shop is and what they do.

I don't have the right? You are so far off on this comment. Walmart and HF exist for a reason.

Tough shit, I work my ass off physically and mentally for far more hours than billed on a customers job and somehow I am not allowed to get defensive about my profession and what I should get paid. If anything I am grossly underpaid for what I do. Amazing man, such a selfish attitude on your part.

You don't have a solid understanding of what I do or the types of customers I get. All I am saying is TV shows and crap like this rant has put it in peoples heads that building anything custom should be cheap and should be done fast.

There is no information on that video of what the trim guy is doing or the agreed upon estimates. So this whole tirade is mental masturbation and pretty much useless outside of a bitch session.

You're right, you don't know me.

You don't need to cross the border to get your interior done. Lots of the fellows that worked in TJ are now doing trim work 20 miles north of the border. There are Mexican trim shops all over up here.
