    All,

I've seen a few posts on the use of T-Touring front sections as the basis for a 'modified'...most appear to use the 26-27 body. I'm curious if anyone has pics of '17-25 low cowl T Touring front halves built into a modified...historical or modern day photos welcome.

    Thanks!

I might be wrong, but I think this started as the front half of a touring car? Lightning bug

Almost all of the first generation T buckets were touring front halfs. That was the "formula" before about 1960 to get the look. As far as using one for a modified, the only problem that I see is that by definition, most modifieds were narrowed. You narrow an early T and you run out of room real fast. That's why the '26 and '27 bodies were very popular, because you could take a healthy slice and still have room for an engine and drivers feet. Remember, all this stuff didn't come about because of style, it came about because of compe***ion and the need to improve speed. I have seen a few used as modified bodies, but they look kinda ungainly, in my opinion.
