17 days until I have to drive this thing 100 miles to Austin. Here is the latest: - Finally solved my hydraulic throwout bnearing issue - bought an 11" clutch kit with shorter clutch fingers (not as easy as it sounds) - Finished the machining on 1 of my Buick drums. The other tomorrow. - Partially installed my homebuilt rear hairpins - Set 283 and Saginaw into place - For fun, bolted up the headers that Crease and I made from Speedway flanges, galvanized fence pipe from Home Depot, and '33-'34 torque toubes that Crease had laying around from when he originally bought his coupe body. They are only blasted for now. Will probably paint black. We made 2 pair, so expect to see his at the Roundup as well. Probably would have made a good tech post, but we were too excited and in a hurry, and you have probably seen how to make these a dozen times already. So, not bad progress since 12 days ago the first primer coat was laid on the frame (se previous posts). 17 more days to go. Will I make it? Comments on the progress, bets on whether it'll get there, or general critique is very welcome. I look forward to any feedback. -Blane-
17 days from where you're at, no problem. Keep this pace up, and you might actually get to sleep the night before the trip. See ya there.
Thanks. If all goes good through the weekend, my goal is to take for a spin around the block next Sunday, the 21st. We'll see.
