tires.jpg I have 4 of the tires in the middle at 17” 525-550 and want 17” 750 in the rear but they don’t make them in the same tread pattern as the ones I already have. I want to run the 17” wheels and tires are expensive so don’t want to buy 4 new ones.

Which would look better having matching brands with different tread patterns comparing the 2 on the left or similar tread patterns but different brands as in the 2 on the right?

for reference I'm building a 30-31 coupster with a flatty with 32 grill and no hood

IMO the tread will be more noticeable than the manufacturer logo.

Go with the ones on the right.

If necessary, sand off the branding.

You can have new lettering made up. There are companies that will buff off the lettering and add new. They've done it for several years for high dollar restorations where the original company no longer makes the tires. Now you can get DIY kits. Most of the lettering is in color so you'd want to dye them black before you add them. You could find some odd ball 1930/40s brand and use those. https://tredwear.com/tire-kits/branded-tire-lettering/

Appearance of read doesn't matter much dirt and even pavement race cars had different tread front to rear.

    I’m running 5:50 x17” front with 7:00x 18” rear
    I think it works. IMG_7383.jpeg IMG_7373.jpeg

I thought 17” tires and rims weren’t traditional!

The two on the right is the way to go. Diamondback Tires can shave off the lettering when you buy from them.
