Very cool. Drive flange looks a little wobbly. Might want to check that.

    Cool. I like speedsters.
    That's a big drive sprocket.
    Overdriven?
I recently realized that chain drive vehicles have a sort of quick change capability.

Glad your engine and transmission are good.

chain is close to jumping teeth !
Get the kinks out and the chain freed up & oiled. you can always wipe the oil off once it's running OK

Please put some kind of chain guard on that thing.

I agree. I love the idea of this car, but it really needs chain guards. The guards could be drilled/windowed so you can still see the chains move, but if that hops off at speed, something really needs to catch it.

You’re probably thinking of the GN chain driven cars.

    First I've seen that. Cool.
But I was thinking about how the drive sprocket and chain could be changed to a different size to change the gear ratio.

Master Resevoir is all sealed up and leak free. Brakes are bled. Once the fuel pump returns it shall drive!

    Hey @animal8324
That is a very cool set up that you have put together for the master cylinder for the brakes.
Not that the glass cant handle it, but it might be prudent to build a surrounding mesh stone guard out of hardware cloth, around the glass portion, just to be on the safe side and to protect it from anything that might impact it!
    Your results may vary.
    Thanks from Dennis.

I think you are in Minnesota now, even though your location shows as NJ. If so, my advice is to find a DMV office that has a knowledgeable, cooperative clerk. They usually aren't in the smaller offices, and you may have to try several. I went through something similar in Minnesota in 2015 (a homebuilt vehicle with no registration). I went to the office closest to me (Jenkins, MN) and they were of no help; in fact, when I left there, I thought there was no chance at all. There is an active car scene in Brainerd, and some of my friends suggested I go there.

After a couple of false starts, I found a clerk there who actually wanted to help. I ended up getting a title and plates, no problem. It involved a bunch of pictures and receipts for major components, so I won't go into detail, because it was almost 10 years ago and I'm sure things have changed (probably gotten worse. There is a chance you may not be able to do it at all.) It will help if you have Bills of Sale for the major components, (engine, transmission, frame, axles, etc. the more the better). Most of those components should be pretty old, or they'll want to register it as 2024 model, with all of the attendant restrictions. The MSRA (Minnesota Street Rod Association) has done an excellent job over the last 50 years smoothing the path on things like this. They even have a lobbying effort at the state legislature that has achieved great things. If you know anyone in the MSRA, they may be able to point you in a better direction.

Recall a few years ago, someone selling an American Lafrance speedster out of Quebec here on kijiji. Was ok, but was asking around CAN$80k IIRC.
