1920 Mack AB restoration needs worm

    Looking for a Sheldon worm gear rear end, ratio 8.75to1 for a 1920 Mack AB truck project - but - other brand vehicles will fit. In the early 1900s, the standard Sheldon worm gear rear end was used by many different 1 to 3.5 ton vehicles including; trucks, buses, tractors, milk wagons, and trollies. 1912 up to the '30's truck brand names that used the Sheldon rear drive included; **Mack, Old Reliable, *Fifth Avenue Coach, *Day-Elder,**Mack International, *Lane Motor, *United States, Gary, Mitchell-Lewis,**Advance-Rumely, *Garford, *Higrade, *L&B Truck, *Ford AA or BB, *Tiffin Wagon, *Chase, *Mutual, *- Buses - *Vreeland, *Rowe, *Corbitt, *Duplex, *Schwartz, *Ultimate, *Gramm. --- Im happy to drive out.

    If you haven't try 1 Big Mack Truck site or 2 the ATHS site.

    Big Mack is operated by Watts Mack Truck dealer in PA as I recall.

    Someone on Craigslist was selling a rear axle out of a Packard truck of that era. The ad was somewhere out east, maybe 3 months ago. I doubt it was sold. A Google seach of that site may still turn it up.

    Ah.. I found the ghost of the ad from the Boston C/L. It read "Mar 7, 2010 ... 1918 Packard Truck Rear End complete hard to find if your looking $350.00 call 781-248-0132. Location: Hanson"
