Brent, i just sat through about 2hours of this build thread. It really helped me out. Unfortunatly, i now know how much work i have ahead of me. The mechanical brakes will be a big issue for me as i have virtually no parts.

Wicked build though, keep up the good work.

    Thank you for this thread!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. I got some stuff coming up soon... can't wait to update.

Hey man... I went with mechanicals to fit the car into a pre-war time period. It would be likely that a car that had been built like this (for salt) during the pre-war era would have most likely been converted to juice brakes, I'd ***ume.

As well, I wanted to do it because I hadn't ever seen it done and, well, I got the parts inexpensively.

Also, thanks for the kudos, I do appreciate it.

Subscribed. You are slap in the center of what makes the HAMB so incredible, Brent. Doesn't hurt to have a buddy like Wendell either!

Brent, Looking forward to more updates on your Roadster. Keep up the great work.

  12. Perfect Brent! I like how the body still has a few lumps & bumps and isn't arrow straight.

Thanks, ChevyAsylum. I've been away from the project for the last few weeks, unfortunately. It's been hectic with a bunch of other responsibilities, holidays, moving my wife into a new office, traveling, family stuff, etc. I'm planning to get a couple hours into it tomorrow though. Once the holiday p***es then it's back full steam.

    Thanks again, fellas.

    Thanks, Rudy. I appreciate that.

Unfortunately, no. I've spent a little time here and there, but mostly I've been taking care of other things. I just told Linh, my wife, not to make any plans for me for the next few weekends because I'm planning on getting back to thrashing.

Also, Jeff (and a few others!), thanks for keeping your eye(s) on me. The motivation is still there and now that I've got some time I can start getting back to it.

I've spotted a couple of gnarly looking hammers you got. Look like homemade. Got any picks of them?

DAAANG!! How did I miss this? Just spent a couple of hours going through it. Other than a 27 body, this is what I've gathered up parts for.

Thanks for the in-depth thread and photos! GREAT inspiration!!

    This is a perfect car.

Yep, that's what got me to switch from deuce rails and flattie to banger powered gow-job. Then came the FREE complete 31 ch***is with running gear.

Hey all, I've got a small update. I just got these back from the polisher's. They're all ready to be nickel plated. They came out really well. The intake was no surprise since Bill used new material and his work is like art.

However, I was pleasantly surprised with the exhaust since it had tooling marks from the bender's and the drive-shaft tubing was haggard from being 75 years old.

    Anyhow, here's a peak.

Also, as far as other work being done. I've been working on the gauge set-up. I got a nice piece of br*** and I've got all the stuff laid out. I just need to do a little more to finish it. Pics will come when I'm further along.

I did manage to hit the body with the exhaust tube when I was on my way to taking stuff to the polisher last week and put a nice gouge into the paint. So, I guess I'm going to learn how to do paint repair, as well. Hahaha.:D

I've got one last thing keeping me from ***embling the ch***is and that's getting the drive-shaft shortened. Once that goes out and comes back I'll be the only thing keeping me from getting it done...
