Kevin in Mn,I better not be missing my culverts under my driveway tomorrow,if I am..I know you took them for a new project!!!!!!!!!!! That is a cool video !!!!!

  7. Yup, culverts... just what I was thinking.... I was also thinking some sort of single drum version, like a modern snowmobile with ski's up front and outriggers in back... motorcycle engine and hve it be chain driven.

After that I go to work making it snow here.

Yeah, not sure I want to risk becoming a smoothie. Might be a lot safer with some fender covers on top of those babies.

that guy was flogging the hell out of it! I can Imagine the horse thinking "ASSHOLE! Can You not see what the problem is here? Hit me with that stick again,******, And You're gonna be a permanent Snow Angel. Did You not see those letters pop up a second ago? Horses SHOULD NOT BE RIDDEN IN THE SNOW. Dumb****. And Your buddy has the tractor, but noo...You gotta drag my big**** out here and see if I can make it. I can, but not with 200 pounds of dipshit on my back..."

I hate the snow, But that looked like fun. The chevy touring supersnowmobile looked like a riot. a cold riot, but a riot, nonetheless.

Thanks for posting that, they made some great things in the 1920's based on Fordson tractors, hope someone has one of these conversions running today.

If you made one with big enough, hollow pontoons for the screw drives it could work on the water as well. I wonde if they tried it.

When I was a kid, on a marshy area on our farm was an old swamp buggy. It had two 55 gal. drums for "tires" in back with angle iron welded on around them as cleats, and one in front, tricycle style. The thing had a car transmission on it, and some sortof old single cyl. engine. Evidently, it got left right where it stalled or got stuck, and there it sat. The water level came up and it's now under several feet of water, but I remember begging my Dad to go drag it out with the crawler when I saw it!

Armstead Snow-Motor. Some others had the same idea, including the German's and Russion's. The last picture shows that one survived.
