Projects 1926 Ford Lakes Modified a New Chapter

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by scottyairborne, Sep 6, 2022.

  1. Saturday morning we were up early and decided to try and beat the storm. That was a fail, storm videos to come... but this was a video from post from after it blew through. Nothing like driving an open-wheeled and open top roadster in the rain.

  2. By Saturday afternoon we were home. 4 days, 1200 miles and a great bonding trip. We are already working on plans for the next big trip, with a few vehicle builds to accompany the Lakes Modified. Also, a few minor changes to the car including a shifter rebuild kit... IMG_1470.jpg

You went from Kansas to Minnesota, and stayed 3 hours?

Finally got to meet @scottyairborne and his brother Matt at my open house last Saturday, good people that aren't afraid to drive 3 hours to hang out for a couple hours. i knew they were my kinda people when they took the through-the-ditch line to get to my driveway.

  9. Was great meeting @BigJoeArt and his family. Seeing the shop, rides and art… can’t wait to see the modified through the eyes of an artist.

  10. Driving the modified every day with my Dad, tinkering on little maintenance items, and enjoying the time together. Thought this was a fun shot of a sweet ride at my brother’s house he is tuning up. 3D3778AE-CFA1-4752-B270-E3583C248410.jpeg

  11. My brother picked up a new ride today, drove it home 100 miles. It has quite a bit to sort, but if anyone can do it he is the one. Real Henry metal 1B06EB93-EDE0-4B62-9912-F7A3C7E35AC0.jpeg

  13. I headed back home, leaving the Modified in its space in my Dad’s garage. I am well over 3000 miles this summer (which is saying a lot, since I am not with the car 85% of the time). Hopefully I get a chance to drive quite a bit more this fall. I have a list of things I am considering changing this winter, but so happy with the driving this first season.

  15. What materials were 1950s lakes modified seat and tonneau covers made of?

No idea but if you want to go with canvas check this place Big Duck Canvas I used the material for the interior of A model truck.

  18. Just got a great piece of commissioned art from @BigJoeArt I can’t wait to get it framed up. Can’t say enough about Joe, he captured the car and my raucous driving style IMG_1548.jpeg
