Got a beautiful radiator from Brice Thompson. Can’t say enough great things about my experience with them. Now to shift some things around and sadly I’ll be slicing the front corners to fit under the tiny nose. All in the name of style and sleek.

What is that steering arm? Do you know what it's off from? Can you show a picture of it where we can see the arm as well as the backing plate/spindle?

Sorry I looked back thru and saw it was a modified 38 dodge part. Still would like to see a close up of how you mounted it to the spindle if you don't mind.

Just found this. Nothing but quality here! I was not sold on the nose until the grill & lights were installed. Now I see it. So many great details. Thanks for sharing.

Hey just want to say thanks everyone! Sorry that I’m not always responsive and might just dump pictures. I’ve got a wife and two toddlers soaking up a lot of my time when I’m away from the shop so I’m doing this right as I’m treated by the first kid in the morning. Look forward to the last couple things then blowing it apart for body and paint.

  12. Wow!! Just saw this thread after Stogy commenting about it on the tired of homogenized hot rods thread… Love the nose and the quality craftsmanship, direction of your build!

I’ve been slowly trying to sort/finish a build with a different front nose along similar lines… Really great to see someone else’s approach and getting inspired to work on mine by seeing the progress on your beautiful roadster.

Getting it all down so I can blast it and start body and paint!

Looking good, love seeing the shots of the chassis minus the body. Lots of a little tricks going on there. Thanks for the update

Killer build, but you're making me sorry that (once again) I didn't build a '27. Maybe I should buy the project my buddy has...

I just went through the whole thread again and it is inspiring. Great detail work. Just a note the Chevy cowl you used is the same as my '26 Chevy.

Yes!! It is. I found it while working at a shop and the owner just gave it to me. I honestly don’t think shit like that just happens. The universe is always helping us make better creations and that was a huge key part of this build. At the time the stock fire wall was hacked and I needed one bad and that 26 Chevy one falls in my lap! Also it’s rad because it’s kind of a tip of the cap to the famous old 26 Chevy lakes car that ran a Chevy 4 and had a aluminum nose.

Honestly man model As are much easier. Most of the patches you get are close to what you need. Plus they are in better shape most the time

All of us Chevy guys know the one of which you speak. Actually that one was a '25. I think the trunk lid was the only difference in the body but the '25 block was stronger.

Damn I was close. At least I’m not calling a T a 32 as some normis have done in my life.

  25. I love the braces. And props for tacking that tab the RIGHT way. Jut a simple tack on the ENDS so you can run a nice bead along the side and around the end. Pro tip from my friend a pro race car builder. Dont weld it solid down both sides, just wrap your bead around the end and back about a scoche on the back side.

Hey T man I agree! What I like to do is tack it, fixture it’s on my little fixture table and weld both sides one right after the other so the heat fights each other while the fixture holds it steady. That only apples to 3/8 + If it’s 1/4 or thinner weld one.

The almost 100 year old body got blasted and almost finished today. The frame is ready to start welding everything up!
