If you check out the frame and it is cut and stretched in the middle with 2 pieces of channel iron about 4 feet long bolted in, don't panic. That was the standard way of doing a stretch chassis back then. It is perfectly safe, if it lasted this long it's not going to break lol.

On the other hand maybe Stude made a stretch commercial chassis that long. Will be interesting to find out.

It sure will. The owner of the restored '26 actually sent us a ton of pics of his during it's frame off for reference. One shows it stripped right down to the bare frame and body, and it looks to be all one piece with brackets for the running boards running down the length of each side. Don't know if that is the case with mine but I'm guessing so. I'm going to take tons of pictures when we go to get it and I'll be sure to post them here.

And here's yet another Studie Big 6 Hearse project, this one by Jerry Mayo of Naples, FL, who never met a wheeled, gas-burnin' monster he didn't fall in love with. His hearse is a '15, and he bought it minus a body. He's building it as an open-wheel speedster destined to terrorize the blue-hairs clogging up the Naples area roads.

I am curious, might be something I need...lol, I do seem to have that twinge of being jealous.
When next to one of these old hearse in person how big are they, like a 70's station wagon, full size pick up...full size van...what is the size "feel" when standing by one,

    Many thanks!
