    hey hambers;
    long time reader, first time poster.

    long story short,looking for advice/help with my whippet. here's the vent:

    this car has been part of me for so many years i feel paralyzed. i was with my dad when he bought it '77, and it hasn't evolved an inch since it became my birthright with his p***ing. problem is, it has become an albatross around my neck. i'm not a concourse guy and this car is too complete/good to hatchet up. but, that condition is worsening.
    cir***stances have landed this rare weird beauty in the elements for the past year and a half and i can't let this continue any longer. action is necessary now.
    here's my plea:
    i'm not looking to have a parade car. i would love to set aside the oak spoked wheels and fit some dirt track wires. pull the fenders if necessary. i'd love to run the old 4 banger with a straight pipe. resurrect this gem of a whippet into a nw style, thirties era, modified runner.
    just looking for some dialog here and maybe some ideas of some creative/altruistic builders that can help preserve a really unique bit of history …

    Why on earth would you even change an original rare beauty like that????
    Buy a derelic model A and do your chopping or modifying.
    Grow up man. You will appreciate what you have in years to come. There is something to be said about automotive history. Some things need preserved.

    I gottta' third or fourth what everybody else is saying. original cars are getting to be a rare commodity in this world. I would keep it, enjoy it or store it properly, and get something less nice to play with.

    I would think about having a new ch***is built lift the existing body of the stock frame and put it on the hotrodded one. keep the stock ch***is and any part removed in storage for the day you might want to return it back to its current condition

    dont think i could do anything to it....

    get it in good running order and enjoy it... that thing belongs in parades and toodling around town every now and then...

    if you dont have a place to store it out of the weather thats where i would start, get a small garage or storage building or something to keep it out of the weather.. even rent a storage unit.. dont let it rot away it needs a decent place to rest when not in use...
