In addition to the spec’s below, here’s a little more info on the car. The body came from eastern Washington where it sat in a field for years, The bottom 3” were pretty much like Swiss cheese, it had a fair amount of surface rust (only through the skin in a few spots as well as suffering a few bullet holes – which we left in place. The p***enger door survived relatively well but the driver’s door was somebody’s punching bag. The trunk lid, apron and dash were gone. In spite of the cosmetic abuse the body was solid. No hammer, dolly or bondo was going to fix these problems though and replacement parts just wouldn’t have built the car we were after. Rather than disguise nearly 90 years of wear and tear we built a completely new inner body frame that made it rock solid, then came 20 spray cans of black Hammerite paint.. While it fits the typical “rat rod” look, under the skin is a very well built car. It starts on the first time, every time and it drives smooth and handles as it should. After chopping the top 8”, removing the (rusted) bottom 4” and channeling it 3” we ended up with 31” of head room – tight….so we cut two 14” diameter holes in the floorboards an inserted 14” Chinese stir fry woks (handles off) in the open holes. Now 35” of headroom is better but the seating position is pretty reclined…..and it works. We also removed the original “package tray” if you will, so there is a ton of leg room. I’m 6’2” – no problem. It’s a fun car to drive and with the 4:10 rear end and tall Mickey Thompson Street Slicks it scoots along quite well, especially when the progressive linkage opens the front and rear carbs. You won’t find a show car here, though it did win a big fat trophy (big deal) a few years ago. This is a good, solid, well engineered and drivable hot rod. The pictures detail much of the construction process.
