I love mint Green on Ford PU's, but consider this, even it you get the paint fer free, goin look bad: here's why, It will "pull the eye to the frame, instantly".. If it's flat dark, it makes the car appear LOWER, and that's what you want in a channeled/ chopped car.
The frame will "disappear" and the crowd will proclaim: Look how low that car is, It's on the ground !!!!
but do what you want,>>> till we change yer mind.. think about this..

Peer pressure is a bitch !!!
I ask my Gramma how did you and Gramps stay married so long?
She said: I always let Him have my Own way.....

I see what you are sayin about a black frame but looking at it from the side it only hangs below like a inch. So it shouldn't be too terrible. If it is that's a easy fix for me. But I think the light green on chrome with bare metal should play well together. I could be wrong though. I have been wrong once before...

To which I reply: From the firewall forward, will that be "UGLY MINT GREEN?"
or : John Deere Flat Black @ $25.00 a gallon @ John Deere dealer.

We just don't want anything " that shouldn't be to terrible"
Who the Hell are we tryn' to please here, anyway..?

Lol Jh Kelly doesn't mean anything to me but I think I have probably fixed one of their trucks. I can get any paint pretty cheap.but not $25 a gallon cheap. Who needs a gallon to paint a frame though.

Didn't paint it flat black... I just put in too much work mudding every weld and block sanding the frame to IMO ruin it with a flat color. I just picked a color chip I liked and went with it. Let's let the bitchin session or whatever we do on here begin! image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I really like shiny paint  and I'll pass on bitching about your color choices, even if they are something I would never choose for my car and I am not saying this color is one I wouldn't choose. I try very hard to look past the color and appreciate the quality of work ;) now that doesn't mean I won't tell someone that I don't care for that particular color scheme because I try to not be one who will say something behind your back that I won't say to your face. :) Looks good to me, what color is the body going to be?

In general I like it. I think you have skills & do quality work. I'd like to see the whole car together, from a couple of different angles. The problem with radiator above the cowl is it makes the car look "pieced" together ( you see the radiator, then the engine, & then the car). A car needs to look like its all one piece, and planned as a whole. I like the color, I'm just not so sure its a good frame color. Black does go with everything. Keep on Truckin!

So for now I'm going to take the body down to bare metal and finish my metalwork pretty nice.and just slap it on the frame. But the plan is maybe later do the body the same color but semigloss. Just to mix things up a bit. When I first started this car I was going to just leave all the welds and leave the frame raw and all. Haha things keep on changing.

I would like to see the whole thing together as well haha. Still have a lot of things to do. Need to finish welding and cleaning up the whole rearend next week then I can have a rolling chassis again. Then I need to run brake lines and finish the body. Then I need to clean up and paint my engine and get all of my shiny parts on it. If I keep the car long enough I will probably try to buy a radiator with more of a chop to match better.

Peach , That would be a good color for body, we had a 67 Chevelle in our town with those two colors when I was younger, belonged to a Mr. Barnum, or was it Mr. Bailey ? I cannot recall at this time.

    beautiful work !!

Thank you. It's not as good as I would have liked it to turn out but I guess it's good enough. It sprayed with a little peel and there is some sanding scratches but I didn't want to get too carried away. What happened was somehow when mixing the single stage I forgot to reduce it. It didn't lay out as flat as I wanted.

I like how the color looks with the chrome. I also have some chrome steering arms that will be going on and I will be polishing the spreader bar. image.jpg image.jpg

Its going to be just how it is for now. If I keep it long enough it will probably be the same color as the firewall but flat.

Today after work I messed with getting the engine done. Installed a new cam and lifters as well. Waiting on my new carb to get here and I still need a new fan. Tomorrow I will try to get the engine put together. Most of the stuff is just sitting there so I could see what it will look like. image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Looks pretty good although I would get rid of the BIG ugly HEI distributor.
