Just about finished with this trans/driveline tunnel. Need to pull my seats and get it mounted then take it out and finish welding and grinding. Getting it out of my shop this week to get wired and a windshield cut
Put about 160 miles on the T. Have been working out all of the little bugs. Main problem has been heating up while driving slow. Took out the 180 t stat and put in a 160. Built this shroud tonight. Seems to work pretty good now. I will have to drive it some more and see.having fun with it now but I have a lot left to do still.

by putting in 160 degree thermostat, the water is going be in radiator LESS time. You want it to be in Radiator LONGER, so the breeze can cool it. IMO
I actually ordered it from macs like 2 months ago and just got it yesterday. It fits okay I still have the slats that go across but haven't had time to put those in yet. I need to oil the stuff up too.

I am pretty sure it's oak haha could be maple I'm not all that good with identifying hardwoods either.
Its the neighbors that are the problem, not the fuzz or the law. My neighbors ain't that much in to my music, but behind my shop, there are longer between houses and nobody complaints :-D
Okay so now that I have been driving it a bit I have been working bugs out. The biggest issue I have now is the front end sways pretty bad at highway speeds. Not fun at all. Since this is my first car I have done I saw people running without a panhard so I figured that I didn't need one. The more I look into it those guys must be side steer and I'm cross steer. So I have a couple of options it looks like,a dead perch,this fork looking thing with a bearing in the center to hold the axel strait,or I figure out some way to make a bolt on panhard bar...
Most important, check your toe end, 1/16-1/8 th toe in. Old Man Way: jack tire off ground, spin it while spraying silver paint in center of tread, then take a 4x4 block, continue spinning and use a Philips screwdriver, leveraged on the block to make mark all the way around tire in fresh paint, Same on other tire, then have girlfriend hold measuring tape on 1 inch mark, you go to other side and measure distance between marks, close to 180 degrees on tire measure again.. way easier than I make it sound. Measure it when IT IS NOT JACKED UP, setting on ground. have fun,
O, I almost forgot " It might be because the radiator is taller than the cowl""" But, seriously, If You had a shorter main leaf, and you had shorter shocks, you would reduce the "SPACE" between your axle and the bottom of the main leaf, and from the side your wishbone would become more parallel with the ground. I just don't see how,, the way it is now, that there is any springy ride in the front end. There is just no place for the spring to flex, must ride hard in front end. IMO
Right now I have my toe set at 0 using a tram gauge. Tomorrow I will add just a little toe in and see what happens. But when you get on the throttle hard or are coming out of a corner you can feel the axle sway to the side a little. I wish I would have put a panhard bar on before I painted the frame... I did find this thing and it looks interesting but I would hate to drill my chrome axle and have it still not work. Right now I think I will order a panhard bar and fab the bracket so it will bolt to the frame or through the frame.
Just set my toe in to about 1/8". I guess we will see how it Does on the way to longbeach here in a couple of hours.
Car drives much better with a little toe in. I probably should have a panhard bar but it is livable now.
