Usually if there in a field long enough. A good brush fire will get them. And the old chevys have got good source of fuel in them. And it did'nt get all the paint cause I saw some forest green on one side of your car ratcoach...ghost

Hey guys; Here's something I've been working on for a friend. He's a big guy and wanted more room twixt his belly and steering wheel so we took a derelict '31 Chivvy Coach, (doors are wider than regular pickup by abouit 3 inches) to create a big cab pickumup for him.

The cab is finished now and he has it painted, but this is all the pics I have right now.

Hey ratcoach; The wood of the two hinge pillars were joined with a cross piece. The five holes in the dash fastened to brackets attached to the cross piece, the end holes attached to the hinge pillars. Pictures are of a '31 but the same thing. The dash fits up against the crossbar, on back/rear side between the steering wheel and the crossbar. The upper lip curls up over the top towards the windshield glass, there is a space of abot 1/2" between the upper lip of the dash and the windshield glass. In the middle, on the front of that lip of the dash there is a small clip that holds a felt/rubber bumper that touches the glass to keep the windshield from vibrating. Look in the picture at the hand holding the dash, that little clip is right there by the middle finger on the front side.

Yea, I forgot to explain fully. There's a steel bracket that connects the crossbar to the hinge pillars, the ends of the dash fasten to that, it's toward the near/inside edge of the pillar.

Here's a picture of the bracket that the end of the dash fastens to, on the left side, right in the upper corner of the picture, pillar is red, bracket is black.

Hey ratcoach; Next week I'm going to do some more work on that pickup conversion and I'll get some closeup pictures of the dash and pillars.

I have edited the post where the picture of the dash and wood pillars/crossbar are shown. Go back and read that again, it might me more clear now.

Yea, It's easier for me to fab them, and using old sometimes costs more.....
Here's a rocker I just finished today on my Rot Rod Nash. Next is fab the part under the cowl to meet up with it. The piece under the door is removeable to access mechanical brake mechanism.......

Hey ratcoach, here's a picture of left hinge pillarz(actually the pillar wood is rotted away but the steel bracket is still there) and cross bar. The yellow arrows point to the brackets the dashboard screws to.

My top cowl near the winshield is out of shape i beleive. Is the dash wood supposed to be slightly curved.

I did purchased a dash and the wood that was screwed to it from "32 chevy" cowl at a swap meet. Could't confirmm the cowl though

Check the dash and if it looks like it is curved to match it should be ok. But I don't believe there suposed to be curved. It has been awhile since I built mine...ghost

Dash wood on '31 is definately curved, horizontally, across the top, straight across the back side, vertically, I'm guessing 32 is also.

Oh ratcoach I got the vacuum wiper assembly all packaged up and loaded in my truck. And I have'nt driven my truck for awhile, and forgot about it. But I WILL GET IT IN THE MAIL FOR YA. SORRY. Will 28 chevy rear side window interior trim work on your car? I am selling mine cause I wont need them...ghost
