Thats the direction I am headed with it. Street legal looking like a track car. I think when its done it will be a really cool car. I just gotta build the Plymouth first. Sent from my SCH-S720C using H.A.M.B. mobile app
It may seem unconventional to some here, but being an auto technician makes it so I know what the most driveable, powerful package would be. If you don't have to have early parts thru out. A modern Hemi/trans and wiring harness, along with F.I. System. Just need a donor car. Jmo. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I have had suggestions along that route before with a different build. I even spoke with my son about it for this car. While I have no doubt that is the smoothest, and fastest my own convictions will not allow me the pleasure. Lol Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I have a Mopar efi V6 5 speed in mine. I wanted something I could afford to drive, and I could have some fun with if I wanted. Gene
That's exactly what happened to my car. My Dad had a piece of sheetmetal rolled to make a trunk then added the ribs.
Very nice. My thoughts were something along that line. I atleast have length of quarters as well as part of the radius. My thoughts were stash a battery and fuel tank in there and forget trying to build a trunk. I like the look if yours. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I knew some guys that used to race these old coupes. That "trunk lid" was likely a 55 Gal barrel cut and welded in place. The real creative guys would hinge them, and hold them closed with a belt buckle or black rubber strap. Probably about 1/2 the old coupes that raced at our local dirt track had trunk lids that looked like that. Back then the barrels were cheap and you could get (2) late 20s or early 30s trunk lids out of 1 barrel. Gene
It's been a long time since I posted on this build. My 31 Plymouth is on its way to being completed over this upcoming winter. My thoughts are turning towards this old coupe. I'm curious, ( since this coupe is so rough) has anyone ever dis***embled one, rebuilt the panels, straightening and repairing them one at a time then completely re***emble the car on any type of jig? I want to do this car justice. I think we all strive to better ourselves and our builds from one project to the next. My thoughts are moving towards a chop or channel. One of the two but not both. My hope is it turns out to be a better build than my Plymouth. Sent from my SM-S920L using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
