For sale/trade, putting this up for my dad, he’s getting up there in age and this is no longer comfortable for him to drive so he’s looking for a 32-34 five window or maybe another early car with more room that’s easier to get in/out of. About the roadster, originally built by John Riley one of the founders of the Road Runners in ‘37 , John was a contributor is the Don Montgomery and Albert Drake books where some of his history is mentioned, it’s been a hot rod for decades with major changes throughout the years, been ran at the lakes and drags, been powered by everything from a 21 stud to a banger to a Chevy to a twin cam hal and now back to a fairly basic 327. The car runs and drives great, paint is 50+ year old lacquer and has some checking and cracks but still looks great, interior was redone in leather by rexupholstery about 5 years ago, the car has tons of neat little one off touches, custom hairpins, big Lincoln shocks, raised rear fenders, etc. it’s on an original 32 frame that’s been kicked in the back, 9” rear with transverse spring, I swapped the Muncie out for a turbo 350 a few years back when dad said he was tired of shifting. The car is a blast to drive, been ran at the antique nats, Santa Barbara trog, barona rpm, goes 8.60’s pretty consistently and has always been very reliable. Located in Carlsbad Ca. Cash price is $37,500 or like mentioned before possible trade up/down for 32-34 5 window or? No major projects.
