Im running a stock 1930 model A speedometer and am hooking it to a 1932 running gear. has anyone done this before? trying to figure if ill need to have a custom cable made up or what? any help? ;o) thanks david jerrod1932@aol.com
OK. This was not my post, and i know it is about 10 years old, but i did a search and this came up. So maybe I can get the answer I need and close the loop on this thread. I have a ford 1931, round speedometer. Going in a 3 speed, 1936 toploader transmission. Closed drive, original model A rear end. I have neither the model a, or the toploader speedometer cable to use. Which cable will work for this set up? Thanks
You can probably get one from a Model A restoration parts shop. https://www.mikes-afordable.com/product/A17260B.html Or get a custom one from @e1956v .
If I remember correctly, there are two different drives on the speedo head. one is keyed, one is square. The other end on the torque tube is all the same 28 to 48, so look at model A vendors online to confirm what I just said, and order the one that fits your speedo
