so i have been search, reading, picking peoples brains and just sitting back learning while i started my build. My dad and I are building a coupe that we have wanted to do for 16 years. we have done a bunch of T's, all to original or as close as we can. We have done a 40 ford truck, 55 ford truck, and a vette. I did a few bikes as well in there but this is the car we have both wanted for a while. glad to share with you all on our journey. and thanks for all the advise along the way "daddy O".

---- started with a second owner complete car...scary straight with 0 cancer. after 1 hour we had it running and took it for a hot lap.

---motor is out a my dads friend race car, he ran back in the late 40's and early 50's...check out the picture of the race team

----goal is a 40/50 tradition rod. model A motor with some work in it. A s10 5 speed and 40 juice breaks.

    enjoy the journey with me

I really dig the picture with the guys all dressed alike with the race car.

Enjoy the build journey with your Pops, I wish mine was still with us so I could do it too.

so do I paint the car the flat red I want, or leave it as is ..origonal1930 black. Awesome patina except for the trunk lid, driver door and one piece hood.. I toyed with finding someone to try to paint the door and stuff a faux black to match, than clear the car.

    thoughts?

oh that's a tuff one. i'm leaning toward the flat red, that motor is too dialed in to leave the body patina'd.

We may just run it as is for a little while and see if we need to change anything....than strip it down and paint in the spring.

I'm looking to do a steering upgrade...any suggestions?

Body is coming off for a new first time since 1930 paint job.

May hard to determine which way you're turning with turn signal on. and you should have turn signals.

How did the paint job go?

Streetrods maybe driven by Chevy, but hotrods are powered by FORD!

Friday got rained out...worked on brakes..bleeding them .somewhere I torque in the line

Yesterday laid down 2 coats. May do one more. Came out great.

I can for some reason post pics from my phone so I'll email them home and post later.
