I aquired the above truck last year and took the title (issued 1953) to the sec of state (michigan) to transfer to my name. While looking at the new title it looks like they made a error when they entered the serial number. I still have the title from 1953 (they voided it and let me keep it) and the numbers on it are confusing to me. The Sec of State entered number (5112050) as the serial number on the new title and I believe this incorrect. Before I return back to have it corrected I need to verify what the following numbers are. I do believe the correct serial number should be A 2325 149. Can anyone help me ID the other numbers on the title? Frame is to badly rusted to pull a number and there is no engine to check that number. Are the last 3 numbers (149) the engine numbers of part of the serial number? The totle reads as follows: Make-- Ford A 2325 149 Body---PK UP Year --1930 On the right center side of the title it lists the words --Title number Listed above those words --5112050 Listed below those words ST C 53 363369 Thanks in advance.
I recently bought a 31 pick-up here in Michigan, and have the title, numbers, etc. My title appears to be set up different than yours. I have a line for vehicle id number, year, make, Model and body style. Under that line is the info required. The next line has title number and issue date, and odometer. Under this line is the info required. Is your title from Michigan? All my titles look like this. Your vehicle ID number should start with an A and then 7 numbers. The title number has 11 numbers and letters, and is no where on the vehicle, I think it is a number the state uses. If the state screwed up the numbers I would take all your info back to the Sec. of States and start asking questions. Red
