Hot Rods 1930 Ford Model A and Blowen SBC motor question????

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by headupn, May 11, 2012.

  1. Move front cross member forward and use the 35 and up axle assy. it will put the axle in the factory location for the correct wheel base while giving you the extra room to drop that thing down into the rails a little more, the negative is that the rad and shell will be pushed forward. You could also run an empty shell up front and plumb the rad to the rear. Someone on here has don that I can't remember who, someone will come up with pics.

  2. Hell since you already have the thing mounted, run and empty shell with no fan. Plumb rad to rear with electric fan.

Im getting ready to install a 327 in my 29 model A. I haven't even begun to look for Motor Mounts. Anyone make a suggestion?

  5. 1. Use the HAMB's "search" function (the magnifying glass). There are lots of really good motor mount threads. This'll get you started:

    2. If you're not comfortable making your own mounts (and judging by your question, I suspect you're not), then get educated. Get a Pete & Jakes catalog on their website and *STUDY* it.
    https://www.peteandjakes.com/
Then go to their tech section and *STUDY* the motor mount installation instructions.

There are lots of other parts manufacturers, but P&Js offers free shipping for HAMB Alliance members and has excellent customer support.

    3. *STUDY* some of the HAMB Model A build threads and build a file of pictures of cars and components that you like. Pretty soon you'll have a good idea of what'll work and what might not.

Good luck and post some pics.
