Not working on it, but just picked up the remains of a 1930 wooden fordor... a '3o hood, cowl, doors, roof panels, w/s frame, visor, dash, instr. cluster, both murray garnish, B pillars, seat frame, f. fender, splash apron, running board bracket, was a wooden cage car with a steel cowl... note the B jam is wider than the A jam is... the top edge of the door is arched... odd garnish / door top... armrest edge is a much sharper radius... . not going to use the door tops, visor, garnish, roof panels, seat, f. fender, splash, inner door panels, remote inner door latches... Same guy had a '30-'31 open car w/s frame and 13.5" stanchions... right side is broken wide open... I have very little time working with stainless … is this fixable and will it stay together if I do ?... I got new "cups" with it... thanks
That look like the start of a woody delivery! Rough out a steel structure out of tubing and cover it in plywood. Could haul all sorts of nifty stuff or sleep in the back.
last 3 project bodies started with less... a lot less... sportster. .roadster-esque pick up. . coupester #5.
Went tin shopping today... buddy set up tables in a row in his shop... in one door run the gauntlet and out the big door... wear a mask and stay 6' behind the shopper in front... better safe than sick. got a '30 grill, door garnish, '28 car dash, 2 roadster w/s frame top rails, pr. '30-'31 truck headlights w/ 3 bezels/ sealed beam conversions and 2 king pin sets... he has a ruff T touring body... [free ?] with the new '30 cowl and doors ... a set of quarters and this would officially become a "pile" ...
Grabbed my shopping cart ; 1930 cut down cowl, [4] male hinges... pair of 1932 rear frame covers... and a 1932 left qtr. garnish... . buddy bought a 1932 truck cowl, cut short frame rails, welded front crossmember, firewall, dash and a cut up K member... ... not a bad day !
Your windshield post is a some-what easy repair. I had done many repairs of them in the 1970's when I had an early Ford business. Just use good quality stainless wire and you should do okay.
Got one on ebay for $44.. but is missing the inside ribbed, stainless piece... . How do I replace it with the one from the broken stanchion ?... removed the side curtain pins and the windwing mounts... nothing left screwing them together... what is the trick ? . Repaired 5 places on a roadster w/s frame... well... there is always my lawn art collection...
