1930 Model A Coupe flattie conversion

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Cheneyboro Kid, Jun 18, 2013.

  1. Im thinking about putting a 59A flattie in my all 1930 original model a coupe. Will the firewall need to be altered any? Will model A banjo work out ok? Thinking of using a 1939 3 speed ******. I have '40 ford front brakes for it but not sure on rear yet. Any other tips about the conversion from someone that has done this? Pictures? Brakes, suspension etc...

    Thanks!

I would suggest that you go to the Tech archives also, and do a search for some of the build threads on an AV8 build. This has given me much needed information with lots of pictures that will help you understand what is ahead of you. Good Luck and don't be afraid to ask questions if you don't find what you need.

It's REALLY tight. but it can be done. You will need to position the engine just forward enough so you can get the p***enger side head off. Also you will need a gen mounted fan.
