Technical 1930 Model A Dash Fit 1928 / 1929?

Hey fellas, just wondering if this gauge panel / dash would fit in a '28 / '29 at all? It looks very similar.. i'm considering buying it and fitting it instead of the usual '28 / '29 dash as you don't see these often over here, if they will fit that is.

 

Thats a normal 1931 A gauge cluster. Should,nt cost more than a tenner in used condition. Another $ 50 for the speedo. I think this gauge panel was a little wider than the '28 / '29 panel. If i remember correctly it was easier to get the '31 on a '28 than a '28 on a '31.

 

I'm not sure what your tenner equals in our aussie dollar but its sitting at $26 bucks at the moment, so i think i'll bid on it then. It looks cool and you don't see em everyday here so might be a nice touch i think. It looks like it'd fit pretty close.

That panel is for a late 30 and 31. If you are using the original A gas tank, I would say forget it. If not, you could cut the mounting section out of a 31 tank and graft it to the 28 tank.

Are your using the gas tank, or just cutting out the dash panel? I don't think the 30-31 will fit flush in a 28-29. I can check this for you once I find the 30-31 panel I have. Bob

 

If I remember correctly, you should check it out, the dash has a slight indent following the dash outline. You might be able to bolt it on but it would look like that is what you did.

Thanks for the help guys but as Gaz said, bidding went faaaaar beyond what I would of paid anyway. I thought it woulda fit but good info here for anyone else ago might have the same idea down the track.
