Up for sale is my killer little '60s style Model A hot rod named The Grinch. It's very loud, very fast, and very fun! It's also low maintenance and will cruise 80mph down the highway if you don't mind driving a straight axle car that fast. It starts and runs great on pump gas and turns heads everywhere it goes, probably because I run it with open headers and slicks hanging out of the fenders! Some pics and a quick video: The Details: 1930 Model A Tudor sedan, TX title and all paperwork is legal and in my name It was a stock, restored car in 2013, so all the hot rodding is pretty recent Color is '05 Mustang Legend Lime Body is mostly stock, with front fenders cut out for headers and bobbed front and rear fenders Stock style interior 383 Chevy, 10.5:1 Probe forged pistons, cast Scat crank, 6" forged H-beam rods, ARP hardware Weiand tunnel ram and Edelbrock 500cfm carburetors, drilled for a pre-'67 oil fill tube and PCV Pro-Filer USA-made aluminum heads, 195cc runners, 72cc chambers, 2.05/1.60 valves Howards hydraulic roller .500/.510, 225*/231*, 110 lsa Zips water pump riser and mechanical fan Griffin aluminum radiator Fenderwell headers, cerakoted and painted white, with cutouts 3" exhaust with glasspacks and turndowns Bowtie Overdrives 700R4 Level 2 Boss Hog 3500 stall torque converter with lockup Driveshaft 3" steel with solid 1350 u-joints Ford 8.8 rear with 4.10 gears Stock frame, boxed, with Dagels Super X crossmember kit Four-wheel disc brakes, master cyl mounted under the floor Stock Model A front axle, drilled, stock spring, split bones Coil overs, 325# chrome springs, Speedway ladder bars Front wheels are polished Circle Racing 15x4.5 kidney bean. Tires are 5.60 Cokers Rear wheels are 15x8.5 American Torq Thrust with the spokes painted light gold. Tires are Radir 10.00-15 It doesn't have a speedometer, turn signals, or a horn. Everything it does have, works. The stock cowl gas tank feeds the mechanical pump; however, the 2gal Moon tank up front is functional. Twist a couple of valves and you can run race gas. Known issues: The tach is a generic old one from a swap meet and it's bouncy and inaccurate. The driver's window will sometimes creep UP while driving. If you open the passenger door too wide, the catch will jam and you'll have to fiddle with that to close the door. The rear tires got into the paint on the fender openings one night when I packed the car with buddies. I have since put stiffer springs in it and raised it some, so that's no longer an issue. My dad gave me the Impala steering wheel years ago and I'm keeping it - unless you pay the full asking price! Otherwise it gets replaced with a generic wheel. I can swap out the Americans for the polished 15x10 American Rebel Sprints with M/T 28x10.5 slicks that you see in the older pics. Speaking of older pics, here are the original build threads from @Chucky. I have a folder with all his receipts and all the ones I remembered to keep. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/a-year-of-progress-drag-inspired-model-a.945758/ https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/1930-hot-rod-sedan-photos-and-specs.970344/ And here is @JohnnyCASHcadillac's build thread showing his paintwork. The Grinch is not a show car but the paint is really nice! Fun fact, his daughters gave the car its name. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/my-gasser-is-getting-paint.1144733/ I'm happy to take any current pictures you may want. The car is in Fort Worth TX, so you can fly in to DFW and drive it home if you're crazy. And if you've read this far, congratulations, you already know you love it and you're gonna buy it. Thanks for looking.
I'm out of town for a few days, but my dad has the keys to the shop. Stop by and get yourself a new toy!
