So I just recently purchased my first model A. I have done old broncos, C10s, mustangs, and many more but this is my first. Over the weekend I picked up a rusty 59ab and today I have someone asking me to trade an old motorcycle i have for a 52 ford truck Flathead with a overdrive transmission. I dont know which way to go and would really like some advice. I live in Florida and just want a cruiser to Daytona or around town. Please !!!

I'm partial to the later 8ba/8rt over the 59 engines but I believe that the 59's are a better fit in a Model A. I'm sure the AV8 guys will chime in with more specifics.

Yeah the 59's are an easier fit in an A than the 8BA. They are a little shorter. I am in the process of putting an 8BA in my 31 Roadster and I am trying to do it without cutting up the firewall and front cross member. I think I have it worked out but will know in a couple of weeks when I get my radiator back from the radiator shop. There are all kind of issues with the water pump and mechanical fans when doing the 8BA.
