Made the template for the windshield today and sent it to the glass shop. 20240705_102607.jpg
Also installed a bunch of little things, coil, remote oil filter, bent up some fuel line. So many little things left to do! 20240705_120553.jpg

Came late to this thread. Really cool project. WRT the video and the angled vs straight cut, that analysis is spot on regarding the stresses acting on the joint. BTW I am a retired professional engineer with experience in failure analysis, not that that means a rats ass.

I have only one answer as to why this concept has held on, and it has to do with the welds themselves. An angled cut with a fishplate over it does 2 things, increases the cross sectional area, and slightly increases the moment of inertia of the member. Okay, 3 things, and it's probably this more than any other reason: vastly increased weld area. Just a thought...

And just binged all of the posts! Great proportions, lots of neat ideas. I especially like the torque arm link on the differential housing connection. The yoke idea is an interesting way to get freedom of motion in 2 of the 3 axes and restricting the 3rd. Now I've got another thread to plaigerize ideas from...

Glad you enjoyed my toils! I cant take credit for the yoke idea or the torque arm. Both are ideas I gathered from other build threads on here. The hamb is great for inspiration! This has been a really fun build and has taught me a ton! Will make future projects seem a lot easier!

  15. Nice decision on how you chose to continue the quarter's body line into the door. Looks factory!

Too often we take the well being of our loved ones for granted. When all are well all is good!

Shop day went great! Got the tank cleaned out and a fill neck added to it, fuel lines run, water pumps pulled, cleaned up and reinstalled, all engine bolts torqued down. Started running battery cables...really fun getting some extra hands in the shop!

  28. I feel like it may be too much white if your keeping the heads white too. Just my 2 cents!

I've never had much success with white on any part of the running gear. Just not good enough at keeping things clean and leak free.
