One pump down. Got a spare off a big ford truck for free, took the best parts and put em together. Hope it doesnt leak! Have a new seal coming in the mail today for the other side 20250608_100919.jpg 20250608_104437.jpg

It would appear that the seals in my pumps werent even bad. The issue seems to be that the impeller surface was so badly pitted that they just wouldnt seal! I used the spare from the big truck and took one of the lincoln impellers and put a bastard file to it til it was smooth. Once that was done I installed it and the fins hit the housing (barely) so I pulled it apart again and clearanced the fins slightly. Now its back together, no contact and seems to be makimg good contact so fingers crossed!

Its more of a face than something youd sleeve. Idk, filing it seemed like the best option

Yeah, I'm saying the sealed surface is a face not a shaft

@oliver westlund , hope you're tying that battery down securely that close to the DB gas tank!
You've turn all that scrap metal into a very cool car.

I needed a burp tank and got inspired by the ol show rod theyre working on on puddin creek rod shop.
Being an Oliver roadster there was only one can that seemed appropriate. An oly pop of course! 20250616_110813.jpg 20250616_110816.jpg

Longest drive yet... dont tell the dmv haha still on them to unpurge the records so I can title and tag it. It is insured though! 20250627_153602.jpg
I drove it to my folks place, about 6 minutes away. Right front brake seized up on me again so I caught a ride home from mom. It was backfiring a good bit at times under load. Not too sure as to why. It shakes like crazy (no shocks) column drop nuts fell off and rained on my feet haha but I had fun. List of stuff to work on. Very anxious to drive it more and fix more and repeat!

I had a bunch of four dot labels when I was a kid. All before I was of age to supposedly use them.

Next up I had to remove the old spark plug wire I had tied to the battery to prevent it from flying around and I gave it a proper little battery box!

I though my lower drivers side spindle bushing was shot....turns out there wasnt one in there! I have no memory of knocking it out.... very odd. Thank god I didnt drive it very far! New bushings in and reamed to size and its good as new!

I adjusted the toe after that, it had a bit too much, was warming up the tires. Now its just right!

Late night last night, around 1 am I finished my rear view mirror... used an aftermarket clamp on sideview mirror, cut the clamp end off, drilled and tapped it for a bolt then drilled through the dash, turned out decent! 20250718_095716.jpg 20250718_095719.jpg
