    I see you can add a bead to the foward body aka Zorro...I actually saw an old car with that factory or I'm dreaming?

    You could also put a swoopy one that curves up behind the windshield post and wraps around down to the hood bead...

    I actually did a quick draft of what I suggested as an option to the Z pattern bead and felt the Z works better...either way the windshield post may interfere with the bead pulled projected from the quarter panel...you could alter the quarter bead to drop it or reposition the windshield post...

    I like the no-bead hood better, those hood sides definitely work better, and the hood top too unless you're going to add a body line to the cowl and doors. Not sure how to work out the length/size differences but based on those two pics the smooth hood top looks best to me.

    Kind of diggin this... 20220920_100821.jpg heres the alternative 20220920_100944.jpg
    If im being completely honest I think the alternative looks better but its gonna be dang hard to make it work. I guess worthwhile things are never easy though

    I think this could be made to work...if the quarter line is higher I will just make the bottom of the Z swoop more. It ties all the body lines together 20220920_102118.jpg

    Finished chopping the w/s today or at least I think so...removed the lower pivot and tacked the frame together. 20220920_124928.jpg It may end up losing another inch but that wont be until its together and I can sit in it 20220920_143702.jpg 20220920_143443.jpg

    Well.....booty is on! I might be biased but I absolutely dig the look of this thing 20220927_214441.jpg definitely a few things I am going to rework, loads of work to go still but it is taking shape and so dang cool! 20220927_214509.jpg
    I even stuck the freebie seat in for fun.... 20220927_173134.jpg
    Need to go buy some more steel for sub frame then I can cut and bead roll my floors! 20220927_214648.jpg
    Was a lot of trimming and tacking to get it all back together but the doors fit half decent and I really think its chuggin down the right path. Drivers side rear quarter needs cut off and moved 100%

    So after getting the body in position 2 things happened...I gained 3-4" of engine space and I lost 3-4" of hood! So the model a hood is too short. On the plus side, the 29 chevy hood sides Don gave me fit EXACTLY right so I just have to figure out the top. I think they look decent 20220928_095829.jpg
    I also figured since the hood sides fit so well that I should make my radiator supports to tie it all in while I work on the hood top 20220928_104535.jpg 20220928_104540.jpg
    I think I'm on the right track, using bits of this and that

    Finished up radiator supports, 20220928_201649.jpg not sure the angle is right so there may be another edit down the road but its solid enough to figure out the hood top situation/make one if necessary 20220928_201208.jpg 20220928_201357.jpg

    Hey, Oliver;
    Can you take a side shot? Or is it an optical illusion that the rad shell top looks higher than the cowl top?
    As for the soon-to-be body lines, you might chalk-in a couple of "bullet-points", say maybe a coupe inches into the doors' rear edge, & also into the cowls' front edge. Might look ok, possibly as planned by mfgr. W/s rake looks good.

    Optical illusion...here it is today with a big truck hood on it which is actually too big but might be what i end up using...i kind of dig it! 20220929_114235.jpg as far as body lines go, I am going to figure out the hood first I think. Then work back 20220929_114219.jpg seems like with how many changes i have had with the hood, thats the route to take

    Thanks Oliver. Figured you had set that already. That last pic looks good. While it's a bit more work, you *could* make each hood side fit correctly, painted the same, & swap them back n forth as desired...

    I appreciate the feedback, small shop and its not easy to get far enough back to really see it sometimes! The body may even come up 1/4"-1/2" when i put real body mounts under it, just has pieces of tire right nowYeah i could...2 looks, the blue chevy sides already fit lengthwise. I just finished trimming the big truck hood to fit... 20220929_202403.jpg

    I think i have the body side trim line figured out, just have to angle it down from the back of the door ever so slightly. 20220929_203824.jpg I think it works

  19. I like the extra louvers on the big truck hood, personally. Either will look great in the end though.

    Hey, Oliver;
    Just for chuckles, maybe on the other side, chalk out a bullet(or rounded-tip)-shaped line instead of the Z. I'm thinking ~ 2->3" on the door rear edge(either almost to the doorhandle hole or just ~ 1" past it), & ~ 3->4" on the cowl(either only ~1" or ~ halfway of the cowl length.).

    I tried that shape on a different cowl/hood/etc w/a earlier tub section. & it didn't look too bad, almost planned. Esp since the body-beads were different widths. But they were far enough apart that they looked similar, since they were only ~ 1/8->3/16" difference, & the bullet-point kinda fooled the eye(s). Don't think it's ever been done by the old mfgrs, but it does leave a kinda nice tie-in for not-same-mfgr body panel, sometimes. Yours is slightly different than mine, as mine were almost on the same level, but yours are quite different heights.
    Just a thought.

    Marcus...

    Was talking to Scott and he said he couldnt believe how much lower body was missing so today i cut and prepped a patch for the lower cowl... just to make her more presentable! 20220929_203512.jpg
    Thats before, here she is with the patch set in but not welded... 20220930_164544.jpg
    Then I cleaned it up a bit and sprayed some weld through primer on it! Will weld up later tonight or tomorrow 20220930_164851.jpg
