  1. Thank you! I looked at a lot of early mags for the inspiration for the rear fenders and finally just held a 5 gallon bucket lid up to the edge and marked it out and stood back! Made a cardboard template and marked front and back on each edge!

Haha I do the same thing. That tailgate pivot was in a big tote full of water and rust that my friend gave me, I had gone through it and cleaned each piece and remembered it on the shelf and said Perfect!

Thanks man it’s actually full now after getting another load of wood in. Does make for a decent backdrop! Better than the old tent at least lol

  2. Well by this point in the restyle of my coupe the drags are getting uncomfortably close and I have a lot of shiny chrome and 8 different shades of black paint. I knew I had to give it at least a once over with one shade of black paint on the entire car. IMG_8110.jpeg did a quick sand on the body and frame with my DA and went to the ol Tractor supply store and bought out all the cans of black spray paint they had (around 10) and one night while the mosquitos and mosquito hawks were gracing me with there company I sprayed the entire car. IMG_8113.jpeg All the bugs and tiger stripes one could ask for…no I’m not proud of the “paint job” but at least it all matched at this point with about a week to go until the big event. IMG_8114.jpeg My dad talked me into dying my brown seat black so I went to Napa and bought their leather seat dye, cleaned it as best as I could and sprayed it. I ended up respraying the top portion to get the tiger stripes out as best as I could.

  5. My dad who was building this amazing model a sedan to come up and race me, built this entire car in 10 months start to finish. I don’t think he slept! He finished it 3 days before he had to drive up from VA to NH to meet me. IMG_8154.jpeg As I was drooling over his car I remembered I still had to bleed my brakes which opened a huge can of worms that resulted in buying a new master cylinder and remodifying my push rod that was for some reason to short now. He assisted me on finishing my coupe up and we took them for a short drive around the block which was the furthest he’s driven his sedan at this point! Stopped and took some pictures of them finally side by side! IMG_8151.jpeg hung out that night and spent some time with the wife and kid and we beat feet up to Maine for the Northeast Vintage Drags the next day! IMG_8312.jpeg made it to the Brewery and back on the Reliability run Friday night! IMG_8192.jpeg IMG_9155.jpeg IMG_9150.jpeg Only made 2 passes all weekend and only 1 pass against my dad due to the club we res erected the Tappets Car Club hosting the car show portion of the event and then the wife and boy coming up for a majority of the day.
