Nah the front Spring, if your running stock wheelbase but it's a spring behind axle setup then does that mean the front crossmember is back from stock position?

How cool, Nate! I don't know how I missed this thread. Wonderful work, but then that's to be expected of you and your dad.

You may (or may not) recall that we met at the Ohio mile, with Stewart W. I truly enjoyed hanging out with you and the other guys.

I hope to see that coupe on the road when the weather gets warmer, if you ever bring it up to Michigan. My modified is now running, and will be driving this spring. I hope to get to Milan for Billetproof and then to Columbus in July.

Haha no worries, I have stops just haven't put them on yet and the header caps were on and we only had the car running for about 6 minutes. One of the next things on the list is to put the stops on the doors!

Hahaha. The door is close to the header when it's all the way open like that but it doesn't touch. Looks like it would in the photos and videos but trust me there's plenty of room!

I really like it.
Can't wait to fire up my own Y block.
Speaking of the header caps I really like what you have done there.
How do they seal ? for no leaks ?
Also, whenever you decide to take the plugs out, will you have the option of using a turnout ?

Thank you! Y blocks sound good, I can't wait to finish building the bigger one and put it in there! I had a friend machine them for me, the plugs are aluminum and they're recessed to fit inside of the header, then just a bolt in the middle of the cap draws them in. No I don't really have that option but I also don't really care for that look. My personal preference and my dads!

No thread on the modified, though I've posted a few pics on the "who's building a t" thread in the past. I'll probably post a few more soon, since it is very close to completion.

I'm going to use the idea on my headers. Going with a set of lakes headers with driveshaft tubes from Matt at Gear drive.
Had built my own but having started with substandard materials they went from reasonable to scrap in a hurry ! Too hard to make thin poor quality material thicker

 

They work great! I used a '36 driveshaft for my headers. Hahaha oh no! That would be a bit difficult

Those substandard materials never really work out. We use 16ga mandrel bends from a USA made source.
