I just got a line on a 31 willys knight (possibly a model 70b) for cheap--$300. He says it's pretty complete except for the front axle and doors. I imagine the doors might be hard to find. Worth a try? Anyone know what the 70b looks like? I can't get out to it until tuesday. It's got the weird slide engine with no valves. I'm gonna look at it no matter what, maybe the doors are simple and will give me a way to learn some new metal skills, or maybe I could shorten it and make a little modified. Figure the parts I don't want will be worth more than that.. Any opinions on these?

Pretty cool looking. I found info on the 70b, just not pics. This is supposedly a 2 door, but he wasn't sure.(?) This is gonna be a cheap build ( I won't use the "R" word, but you get the idea.) I've been watching all the "home made bodies" threads, this would be a hell of a jump start and after I sell off the fenders, engine, etc, the body, etc will probably end up being free or better. Hmmm....

  4. I'm thinking that for $300 it's hard to go wrong unless it's a total pile of rust. Yup, selling off the things you're not going to use would probably make you your money back easily.

If you'd like to e-mail me with information on the car and parts available, I'll put an add in the Willys Knight newsletter. There are quite a few 70B's around and owners are always looking for parts. This would be a great opportunity for them. E-mail your info to mvyoung619@qwest.net Thanks, Mark

Sounds like it would make a rod to me. The price is right to.
