We are getting a little close to finishing up all the fab work on the Ardun 5 window that's in the shop right now. I realized i never started a thread on this project so here is a quick run down. When the car initially came in it was to finish up the needed work and get the car to paint shop, but once you start digging into a project and realize that a lot of less than acceptable repairs had been done in the past it was time to strip the car down and start back from ground zero. Thanks to a few Upac parts the body and subframe are repaired and reworked. When it came time to go over the frame it was the same as the body a lot of brazing rod and multiple seams that were less than structurally sound. A new set of ASC rails we retained the stock K member and the model front and rear ones that were in the car. The Ardun motor was rebuilt by Ted Bowman in Colorado, we mated the engine to a T5 out of an 87 jeep and thanks to an adapter from one of the guys here on the HAMB we mated it back to the closed driveling and quick change. The stock K member is moved back a little over 7" and the pedals reworked to fit. Cowl steering from TMP. There are still a few things to finish up before it is ready for the paint shop but it is getting close.
In case you haven’t picked a color yet Rex here’s a little inspiration. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
More exemplary work from a place we expect nothing less than...Always a pleasure to witness and appreciate. Look forward to the evolving of this Hotrod. Thanks @rexrogers
Waiting for the goahead from the owner of the car on the pitman arm, but i agree it needs a little clean up work. I'm thinking if it it milled out and drilled to match the front axle would look good.
Our portion of this coupe build is almost wrapped up. Still waiting on some gauges to arrive. Another shop here in town is going to build the exhaust system. Then on to the paint shop. Ready to call our portion of this coupe done. I had to push it outside to get a good look at it all together. A few minor parts waiting to come in but they won't hold up the progress. This coupe had a hard life it first came into the shop caked in bondo and a angle iron sub frame. The frame itself wasn't any better. The beautiful Ardun motor deserved a better showcase than that. Thanks to unitedpacificlongbeach and josh the body was brought back to being a respectable car. We built the ch***is with a jeep t5 retaining the stock K member and torque tube set up.
