Not free space for all, maybe 70% of all mine is there. My ex wife won also very much when she was drive my Dragster. She has own trophys where she is living (we divorced 2003)

I am not surprised to see that you have collected so many awards. I can think of many worse ways to spend your time and money.

over 15hours worked with same right quarter. I hope today Its ready.

Last weekend we were in Ekens Gassers swapmeet (Stockholm , Sweden). I had some hot rod stuff for sale.
OK sold some, but mostly new "cataloque stuff".
I own two Socal Speedshop sign. Nearly 20y ago Mr Alex Xydias underwrite those when I was visit there in Socal "Open House". I bought them ,yearly, approx. 50-70 000usd value stuff to my hot rod shop.
I was try to sell one sign, nobody was interested in. I asked many old hot rodders if they know who is Alex Xydias... They didnt know !!! They just built their cars "bolt on new china shit".... Where this hot rod world is going/falling ?....
I can keep signs on wall. One in garage, one in my 100y old house lobby in upstairs. Now I understand more and more why interesting hot rods are made less and less.... History: Too many of us are not interested in history of this field.

Social media, fast results in garage... are today trends. Many of them need to build their car as fast as they check their facebook or twitter... I note also that they buy that "bulk stuff" . My Old interesting hot rod stuff was not selling good. That´s ok For me I. dont care if sell good or not, we were just two days "holiday" trip.

Really sad but that’s how most do things now. Nobody seems to want to think/ plan, collect parts and build a unique car. Stroke a cheque and wait for a whole bunch of boxes to show up on your doorstep, that’s the way to “build” cars now, someone has already figured out the hard bits so if you follow the directions nobody need strain a brain cell, going to a show is like looking in a box of smarties, different colours but all the same shit

You´re 100% correct. That´s one reason why I stop to sell hot rod parts after 14years.
It was rather easy to sell complete set (front end, rear, lights, dash+gauges, steering sparts set, brake sets)... I had rather good + 50 000usd stock same brands (limeworks, socal, moon, PJ, Tci, autolock, vintiques, speedway, posies, ....) brands than other. I sell rather much, but year after year I hate more and more that same stuff. Junk or not, but same stuff.

I have very much energy and ideas to built more hot rods, but lets see after get this 5w coupe ready what happens.
    Racing is still interesting (Drag).

Last Sunday we were see one 2005 Ford Mustang ProMod. Rolling car, not raced last 6-7years. Sad to see how bad condition that car was. I know how expensive it was 15y ago when good name company made it... I didnt made my offer, we stay hot rods. My goal was built car ready in two years. Then Oskar can drive racing license too.

I have been "very high RPM" to get race car again, but after see this car I decided that we stay hot rods. I was think that I can slowly buy new stuff from US (New block, new billet crank, new oliver or carillo rods, new FK3 procharger, new sonnax style tranny,...). Not very expensive if stay 540cid-565cid BBC basic. Easy to get 2500hp. I have never race in Santa Pod UK or Hockenheim DE.... maybe some day if I have enough good health race there and Oskar is interested in be driver or mechanic.

Today 6th of Dec is our 107th independence day. Good day to built hot rods like I did.
over 107 years ago my grandfather were fight "whites" side and they push "reds" to Russia.
Second time he was 4years in war keep those same Russians eastside.

Finally get driver side rear ready.

I am glad You started with hot rods 20 yrs ago. I wish I had done that too. But I was fully into vintage motorcycles and vintage aircooled VW;s. Lived happy life in garage and with my own family. But now at 58 yrs old building first hot rod here in Finland ,,finally. Only I can say, it’s not easy to do everything ”right” with current old stuff prices. It will take years to keep balance in spending money like never before. Make hot rodding cheap again.

Yes, old hi-perf, aircraft etc. parts are more and more expensive and hard to find. Hot Rod building originally is to use original parts, other brand or yearmodel car parts, aircraft etc parts. Also homemade parts are part of hot rodding idea.

Painting tent is ready for hot rod parts painting. Need to paint many times between sandings -> Epoxy primer, filler, acryl.... Yesterday tested tent and painted pick up front spoiler.
I use 25meter / 20 000lumen led light. I have three of those, easy to increase one or two more if needed.

  10. Hey Aulis, hope things are going well for you in Finland these days! Keep your HotRod 'Sissu' going my friend!

I'm here in the Black Hills of South Dakota for the Holidays . . . helping out my 91 year old Finn Mom! Though I'm only 1/2 Finn, it is the country/culture that I'm most in tune with.

    Have a great Christmas!

Thank You Sir! I wish also good Christmas time and Happy New Year !

Your mom has Finnish "sisu" which is good energy.

Here is all good. This year winter is delay. Last year snow was falling down middle of November.
Tomorrow I finally continue Hot Rod building. I want that all parts are ready for epoxy primer before Christmas.
Today fixed Tig welder. Its old (+20y old) Micatronic2400 (made in Denmark) and not get sparepart for burner. My friend , who is goldsmith, solder parts together with silver.

    Hello,
THank You for Your Pic! Looks marvelous. Flathead methanol or +50% nitromethanol sounds good.
We have problem that here is not enough nostalgia drag race cars for "fun race" etc. I have had few Jf Fueler, but sold all.
I have one engine project. 304cid. Just get valves from Summit racing. Stroke kits I bought +1y ago from Scat, heads still missing, but nearly all needed I have. Alum.flywheel, 10" new clutch, magnetos, Holman Moody made me special cam years ago (Thanks Frames),....

I was sick (Flu) and drive over 1500miles see my industrial customers.
Finally have worked 2-3days in garage. Oskar and his mother are in Estonia see their relatives and have Christmas time there. When he comes back , he will come to continue his project.

As You remember I have turned 1932 original rearaxle ends from side to another. Rear axle spring brackets were not right angle, so now I removed posies spring, heat brackets and turned over 10dec. Now blend down better.
I bought from Ebay those taillights, same time installed outside of frame. Petterson mfg. stuff.
Today 23th Dec. continue sanding... Maybe 3-5days more and body is ready for epoxy primer.

Do You know what is happened one very old hot rod shop: Antique Autoparts, Rosemead CA?
I have had some of their brand stuff "PSI". Last PSI stuff (shackles) I will install this car (See pic)
I have one of their old cataloque in my office. Antique Auto Parts Inc (Jim Gordon, Gene Scott)

I visit there maybe 10-15y ago. One of those "old rodders" still open door after I called.

nb. Today I bought one 2kg putty more. Already used 4kg, so total putty needed is 6kg. Very much sanded off, maybe 50% or more.

24-25 Dec Christmas time Im just relax. Good food, Sauna, Red wine....
Yesterday 23th Dec continue cowl top and pass side.

Summit racing shipment arrived. 2pc muffler for me and 2pc to my friend Seppo in Helsinki.
8pc+8pc valves to my next 304cid engine. I was made mistake when ordered those. 1.50" (4.911" long) HD serie valves are OK, but those 1.60" (4.910") are not what I was think to order.... OK, I can fix those. I need to grind 30dec angle one by one and get 45dec surface 50% smaller (lower)... Need to be carefully before push "send order" button...

    Merry Christmas !

    Thank You Sirs.
Im waiting that mister Oskar is come back home and he can continue sandblasting my rod parts and his Honda Monkey parts. They have Holiday from School to Epiphany, so need to have long list small jobs for young man.

I have nothing to do, but not interested in to work in garage. Better stay in and just rest on the sofa.
Next weekend we start to spray epoxy primer in our nice tent paintingroom :)

Interior panels + sofa I left to upholsterer. She, Miss Paula, need to order another colour leather. I had 2pc big cow hide (middle brown), another colour will be light brown...

Today i was back garage. 3days just on sofa or bed. Pass side cowl was not good. It was too much out (too round), so I need to shrink it with heat. Finally it was very good for thin putty. Rear quarter is also nearlyready, I forgot picture there.

maybe 3-4days more and body is ready for epoxy primer. Next problem is that my body rack is too high. I have used that rack last time with 5w coupe body 14y ago when I built grey 409cid 5w coupe. After that there has been bolted on it 5-6 roaster body. This garagedoors is smaller than my ex house garagedoors. Im not sure how slow down rack 2-3". Maybe I remove wheels...

  23. On your cart you could easily do this. You can reuse your existing wheels and still get it lower.
