Thank You Glenn. I haven´t been very efficient now a days... something every day. Today, Saturday, I try to heat and turn brass bracket. You guess what happen... it broken. I have soldering fux and welding additive, so I weld it. I hope its OK. Looks ok and material was not "boil" so I think its OK. Brass brackets have been long long time in my junk drawer, now I found good place to use those. I use those small lights (Grimes landing lights from year 1943) like front turn signal. Also removed 3 head stud, installed old Weiand generator bracket. First I used Chevy SB Arp head bolts, but changed those old studs with nuts. Studs and nuts combination looks better than hiteck Arp bolts. When intake manifold arrive from USA, I change generator place. Now I use Classic V-belt B-53 (53"). That is little to short, so I need to order from our company warehouse 53.5" or 54" belt. Note that weiand bracket text. "Los Angeles 65". If I remember right, they had short post numbers there still 40´s, 50´s ? Nice weather outside. They have Finnish Championship serie final Rally here in Seinajki city. After 1-2hours they have last stage in speedway (MC) track area. Maybe I take 2hours Saturday walking and go there to see rally. Aulis Nb. Normally I have visit in NHRA races, but this time we spend few days there to see if our friend (who we are sponsor) Samu Kemppainen is this year Nitro V-twin serie winner. Two days more before I start long vacations... Tuesday i close my coffee place, wednesday I take my vacations in dayjob.... We have here 4+1week year vacation in Finland (Sweden, Norway, Denmark same system) with 1.5 x salary. I havent spend my vacations last 12years.... I informed our company owner and MD that I start to spend my vacations. They told me that "You have loosed those, because You havent take those vacations in due time". I informed them, OK I dismiss from work and spend my vacations in my own time..... Im next May 60y, not so interested work anymore.... Yes, they called many times and accepted that I can take vacation months now.... Today I installed Aircraft wire holders, made simple turnsignal switch bracket and connected front turnsignals. Leaves are falling and autumn is comming... Last hot rod rides are now. Yes, I bought new "hot rod". 2010 gator TE. Im not sure if I remove that satin black paint. I need to grind, sand and blow with sand those risers. Now those are too much CNC outlook. I need to make enough long stud bolts ... Yesterday i made wirings. Front headlights, parklights, turnsignals are OK. This time generator wirings, next brake switch and taillights. Micky, I bought from ebay. "Real china shit".... This time quality looks good, very good. One of those companies who sell there china carbs, intakes etc. This is located in Ontario CA. I have ordered from one which is located in Rialto CA and another in Riveside CA. Yesterday bought UNC and UNF bolts. I cut both, lathe ends tig weld together... I need 5" long studs for carbs installation. I have ready studs, but 4" lenght is not enough Aulis
Yesterday I worked all day, but didnt get nothing ready... Mostly I made footprints. OK I made 3m long booster cables. I hate those china shit, I bought RECO (Denmark) ends+ 2 x 3m 35m2 cable. Also changed another 12V generator. Black one was work OK , when I polarized it, but never give volts out. I need to open it, maybe one coal is stack etc etc. This cromed is 21A model (1-2cm shorter than 50´s blc one) which I have converted to 12V long time ago. Now it charge 14.4V when approx. 2000-3000rpm . I like those old generators + voltage regulators. Easy to use, enough for old cars, good outlook and easy to tune up. Note old Voltage gauge. Works fine. Many times those digital gauges etc are "confuse" when You have DC system. They are made for AC I bought from Ebay those nice velocity stack. I like that outlook. Those are only 65mm ID , so I stretch few minutes, now another is fit perfectly. Little too big, but I like use tape between carb and cleaner/velocity stack. Few things done. I cut and welded together 5/16 UNC and 5/16 UNF bolts. I made 120mm long studs for carbs and risers. Same time I have check parts next project 304cid flathead. Still need some parts. Just drop order to Speedwaymotors. Heads, cam gear, distributor gear, one 1.6" valve, big bore gaskets, oil pump pick up..... I want to use 8BA style timingcover + Cirello (426cid mopar) magneto. I need to piece magneto and made it fit to flathead. I want to use 2 row waterpumps. I need to use those 49-53 mercury "long neck" pumps (see pic) and change narrowed v-belt pulleys to 2 row model. Then I have enough free space between belts and engine. Distributor/magneto needs that free space. Tomorrow I sandplast intake, risers. Fit all and port runners to fit engine runners. Aulis
Only few hours worked today in garage. I start to fix intake manifold outside and port inside. First I enlarged gasket runner holes same size than in cylinder block holes. After that transferred dimensions to intakemanifold. Today arrived stuff from Gotham Autoparts. Very good quality, packed perfectly etc !!! Now they informed that they have cancel my order because Im located so near Russia and they are not sure if my parts are used in Russian metal industry or in their war industry. What a fuck! I send them email, and asked them take their head out of "socialistic bubble" or "from that place where sun is not shine". I wonder how stupid people is working there Aulis

Yes, Mr.Roadster company is sell very much shit (all their own stuff is so shit that even metal recycling not accept...), they have done that long long time. I have not used their services last +20years, now I decided that this was last order. They can keep their business policy. When I moved to Los Angeles area 2003, my first orders I made to Speedway motors. When learned more this field, I bought all from Ashley (Reids rod parts), socal speedshop (1/4mile from my garage in pomona), Total cost involved, Afr, Currie enterprices, piston and crank manufacturers (scat, venolia, ross, engle, arias, bryant,...., ) PAW had good stock and good pricing, Moon, CWmoss, CG early ford, BDS, Edelbrock, compcams, howard, hot hemi heads,...... and many other. Wednesday worked 5-6hours in garage. today I start to put all together. Aulis Nb. Be carefully with new fuel hoses. This engine hose was only 3months used, it´s full of small cracks !!!
I don’t know if I have mentioned before, but you can use MyUS.com You can collect packets from different vendors at their warehouse, got it repacked in one box, pay freight and tax in advance, then goes direcly to you. Even ‘dangerous goods’, like oils, glues, paint. Not cheap, but works.

I have addresses of warehouses where I wanted to have it shipped, but they canceled that, too. My billing address was in Germany, and they wouldn't ship there. That's no problem for me, too; there are plenty of alternatives. Best regards, Harald.
I like the way you machined the manifold to match the risers. The manifold now looks very much like a Thickston PM 7. You probably saved some money by useing this innovative approach.
Thanks everybody. No show quality, just for driving. Old style = homemade ideas and realization. Today, I made fuel lines. Fuel hose was very bad condition (maybe 2-3months old). I opened ends and changed hose to Gates "all fuel resist". I pressed new sleeves on hose. Now fuel hose is very much shorter. When fuelpump now turns more, pump inlet comes very near of fuel line which comes from tank. I drove 10-20km. Runs good. Very powerfull engine. Idler is OK, after that there is small "dead" area. Maybe I try go change different powervalves. When Rpm is going over 1500.... Engine is scared strongly. I think, those too big in runners are done that. I adjust ignition and carbs many many times, now rather good. Next I change different power valves. When installed risers, I dont use any seals between risers and intake. Only Loctite 5980. When there is no gaskets, looks better. All carb gaskets I permeate oil and grease. Keeps gaskets soft and easy open when needed. Carbs in this combination are "china" 94. Very good quality. I opened both, checked that there is all OK, and not dirt etc. Tomorrow I need to drive 50-70km to see my old friend. Next week need to make bigger maitenance, continue make electrics ready (rear turnsignals, brake lights, tachometer...). Also need to drill hole and install speedocable. Now Im very confused. I have try to get it this Flathead psyche. Engine starts nice, runs and drives. But,.... I feel in my butt and fingers that engine is not what I want. When it smokes, car is not push like it push when its Neutral or Lean... We know that when You are near "too lean" engine runs like crazy. there is very strong vacuum, exhaust runners also are flow very very good, which helps in side fill better cylinders, cylinders are empty before intake cycle. I note that I must open very carefully idle screws, or engine sound is change to "heavy" even when it is just idle running. Many engines are not very much change their sound when You open or close those idle screws, but when very strong vacuum, half round is very much open or close way.... I have try to install smaller jets, change power valves (both way),... still spark plugs are very very black. Distributor (stromberg electric) cap look very very bad (see pics) afte 100-200km driving... I think that: 1) distributor is not enough for this engine? 2) there is somehing elecrical problem in distributor? 3) this engine needs more carburetors (more trottle area)? Feels that engine has huge potential, it tries to push strongly, but when more trottle, rather much smoke behind car ( its rich, not lean), even have normal size 53-55 nr. jets. Is there too small trottle surface area? or is this stromberg distributor shit /out of order.... spark plugs are black even drive very carefully. I take 5min test drives and drive direct back in to my garage. Why distributor cap looks terrible? I have fix it many times. I have 3-4 caps, I have changed fixed cap too many times. I have ready 100% rebuilt Harman Collins magneto with new points, condenser and coil. I have installed and adjusted it ready. Must I change it to see how engine works with it.... I like challenges, no hurry nowhere, but sometimes feels that not "find goal"... Aulis
