Man it’s not personal, this forum has always been strict to what the focus is, the edit isn’t about you or whether your pro mod is a Hot rod.

It’s not the “kind” of hot rod the forum is about. That’s hard for some to dissect.

He directed you to post that stuff in the new off topic forum because many of our members build all kinds of stuff and we’d like to follow along but there wasn’t really a place to do that. That is now the place for it.

Please continue posting as often as you like and with photos, just start a new thread in the off topic forum for the pro mod stuff.

  4. Aulis, keep posting your pictures. For some of us," seeing is believing ". What you are doing is like the old timers did, you modify something from one vehicle / engine to make it work as you need it to be. That is how hot rodding got it's start. You take the time & thought, and fabricate / modify what ever needs to be done to make it work. Keep up the good work, and the pictures so that you not only explain what you are doing we can see the end result. Thanks.

Thanks Patsurf & **** Stevens... I figured it was in context somewhere, but just too lazy to look. And, I was somewhat trying to distract him and get him back on track! ;)

    Hello,
How is going on here in hot rod webpage?
Haven´t visit here, but The Ball is turning without my postings.
Only what we are worried about here is that man who is same colour with carrot is casting doubt on that thing too.
    :)

Yes, I have worked hard alot in my garage , but no postings.
You´re correct, Mag is Tom Cirello 426hemi, which I have "tuned up" to fit flathead.
This time I have there new pointless distributor as long as I have bought magneto coil for cirello magneto.
Car run nice, have drive daily. Now McCulloch superharger works fine, engine is work fine. Very powerful, need to be carefully with that torque. Driveshafts are "weakest link" As I have told hundreds time; Hot Rod has original frame, body, axles, flathead engine, old style ******,.... even those are not strongest stuff available.

with 400jr cam engine is little lazy when lower RPM, but Rod "rush" when RPM goes up over 1600Rpm.
I didnt get interesting advance curve with those springs and bushings belong new distributor kit.
Made some own testing tune up..... Now distributor is "stiff" , works fine.

Yes, "that´s all folks". Very much happened during months. Rods and other American Cars cars are ready, inspected (Yes, we need to drive inspection yearly, old cars every 2nd year, historical registered orig. vehicles every 4th year).... I have drived daily more and more when weather is going warmer... and of course Split window is nearly ready for race season...

    Thank You everybody.
Need to remember that life is learning. Sometimes easy, sometimes after many try...
My working is not professional, not with big money. Only for driving, enjoying. One of most important thing is when have picture on my mind what something looks when ready or how I put into practice tecnical. All are important:
    Idea+working,
    Result+driving,
Selling+getting little profit for next projects

Life is learning and realizing. When I was Young I read Hot Rod magazine, Swedish old hot rod magazines (Start & Speed, Colorod, Power magazine) and talked with old men who were done all by hand.
Now we have better situation, we have tools, machines,... but not so much craftsmanship. That is sad.
My dayjob is easy. I have worked 21years homeoffice (since I moved back from California to Finland). few hours working daily, more hot rodding....

Racing is very strong part of hot rodding. We dont have saltlakes here, but we have drag racing. I start street racing 1987 with 327cid 67 camaro. Powerful engines, interesting american engines with powerful sound makes "chicken skin". Thats why bought that 63 split window. I have race alot, I have possibility to give a Young man try to racing. Slowly with hobby feeling and enjoy.

This weekend, Eastern, There is big ACS (American Car Show arranged by FHRA) in Helsinki fair center.
Same time there is FHRA members annual meeting. I want that Oskar is learn what annual meeting means, what are there decided and how this kind of ***ociation works. Also we can stay one night in hotel, see hot rodders and he can talk with other racers. Now they know pretty widely that Oskar is race next summer.
He get special drag race lisence to race when only 15y old, but some limits set of course (Speed, ET).
You can check his facebook: oskar motorsport and I know that there is possible to like. Do that if You are using facebook ... Im have only this media, not any social media.

This has been easy winter. only 1000hours or something like that. I have finish 5w coupe, made projacs for racecar and of course last 2monts worked with split window after car arrived from Alabama to Finland.

5w coupe engine is working excellent.
I made big 6" OD crankpulley, now supercharger is take more Rpm. Need to remember that that M36F85 supercharger has made on original 1936-> flahtead. I ported intake manifold bigger, opened "bottle necks" and increased Rpm. Also made electrics ready. Turnsignals, brake lights, headlights,...

few weeks ago, when ordered some race stuff from Summit also ordered last two parts for 5w coupe. seat adjuster bracket and seat adjuster handle. I stretch 2" that bracket before bolted on. Now seat is possible to push more far from pedals. Both hot rods are inspected. Next time 2028.

Hmmm... maybe not very much boost. You know, this 1st McCuloch (M36F85) is smaller than 1940 model which I have had too. I have good basic compressio ratio (9:1), so if supercharger can little help from vacuum to boost side, that is all extra. This engine is 304cid with alum. flywheel, 400Jr cam, 1.60 valves....
Nice "whistle sound" is good. I knew that this supercharger is made to use with original 85hp engine.
My engine is big and flows better, so that´s why I made that big crankwheel (6").

I make this engine to one hot rodder (Helsinki) 5y ago. It was leak, they left it and make new one. My friend bought this one back and I just installed 2 sleeves. Actually one needed, that cylinder leak. There was hole and when we bored little more from 3.312 to 3.375 size, that hole was bigger.

Today I have drove 20km. Feels good. Later evening our historical motorcycle club has coffee time in club house. I get more kilometers before and testing... Saturday we (I and Oskar) are drive 200km (120miles) down to Tampere. They have there yearly Hot Rod and Rock show.

Saturday morning, 8.00 we started rodding to Tampere Hot Rod Show. 200km, 2hours 10min include one coffee break in Parkano Shell -g***tation. 110km/h was good speed (65mph). She Runs great. Yes, we had 200w 12V heater, but there was rather cold in cabin....
    outside -1dec Celcius.

Afternoon there was +13dec Celcius outside, that was OK weather. Friday we bought JBL bluetooth speaker, Dr. Feelgood, ZZTop El logo, Rainbow... good music + hot rod... not bad at all. Only minus thing is that engine is leak oil. Maybe I have too much oil, OK I have there 10w30 lowprice "no name" oils, so when its going warmer, I make oil change. Yes, we also changed 7lbs rad.cap to 14lbs, it was "overflow" too easy. OK, Ihave big overflow tank (I have made that tank from fishtrap surface float (SS).
Today arrive last stuff for racing,... nos bottles, simpson bandit, hans, driven racing oil (high zink), pac springs, tires...

This summer we just race and drive hot rods. No coffee place, no extra business. One month I turn 60, so need to take easier and easier. 5year 3month, I get offical pension.... I ready to stop working during next 2 year.
