Hot Rods 1932 Buick - Can It be considered Traditional ??????

I have been looking at a 1932 Buick built 25 years ago I know its dated but is it traditional????

 

If you like it, buy it. Traditional or not, it's a beautiful automobile.

 

Dude. That thing is awesome. A frekn' chopped '32 Buick. Be easier to find balls on a ****erfly. Hell yeah, I'd rock it. May change some minor things ... but the car in of itself is stunning.

 

Another 32, how often do you see them? A few cosmetic things on the outside and it'd be a another car. Awesome car.

That is a good looking car and just needs a few minor tweaks,removing the street roddy spare tire cover and moving the tag to to a different location.

Dump the rectangle drivers side mirror and add a round one and the car would be golden.

That car has tons of potential, much of which could be done in a weekend.
If you want it to look traditional, just add some red steel wheels!!

Man that is sweet no matter what its called.

 

I like it! But I most confess the über sized truck style headlights and wheels bugs, me more then the wheel cover.
The wheel cover with the Frenced licenses plate, is better then a spare wheel without cover, and because it runs all the other Do-Da bumpers don't hurt.
But less chrome, less trinkets and loose the mirrors, and drive it a lot!

 

OK then, let's nit-pick. Adjust the tailpipes so they are equidistant from the centerline of the car.......

 

No problems there, 327 Cu. In. 400 Turbo 3-speed. Nine Inch Ford Rear End 3:23 gears. MARTZ Suspension.

It's a street rod. Damn good looking one at that. Too much billet and chrome to be traditional. Wished mine looked as good..And yes I love street rods..

 

With the hood shut there's one piece of billet visible, and hotrod have always had chrome if you were gonna knit pick you would have been better off saying to many doors instead of too much chrome for traditional lol.

That being said that car is mega traditional! For like 1975. Period correct doesn't always mean 1946

It's cool, I'd ditch the square mirror and drive the **** out of it. I don't open the hood unless I'm working on it but if you really felt like fussing with it the billet stuff on the engine is a little to modern for the 70's ****era was making billet everything but it had a different look to it than the blister pack stuff on that one.

 

O.K. I agree on the Billet stuff, which will be removed along with some but not all the pin striping. The Chrome is in Beautiful condition and will stay I think it gives it the right look. I like the chrome spokes but for a different look I have steelies with wide whitewall radials.

 

Stick with the chrome wires, de-billet the motor if you're going to open the hood, and please get rid of those clear taillight lenses. The only other slightly off-key bit is maybe the license plate frame, I wouldn't worry about the mirrors....

 

Gotta say, that Buick is totally *****in!. As HRP said I'd be on that like a duck on a June bug. As most all have said a few tweaks here and there and you're ready to go. Again, most important is you enjoy the hell out of driving it. Looks to be a great road trip cruiser.

 

Not ever gonna be a traditional hot rod, but so what, it is cool enough for what it is. It looks like a comfortable cruiser, resto-rod, in it's style. I would not mind calling it mine. Is the interior pretty original?

We are sweating the small **** guys---it's 'fin gorgeous. Billet smillet---we got screwdrivers.

 

I lke that. If it were mine, I'd get rid of some of the striping (too much!) and add some taller wheels and tyres. It´s a big car and the current items look lost on it. Also I think they´re the things that date it the most. The rest looks mean.

 

Not without skullz and red wheels.

 

Damn that is a good looking car. I'd have to agree that it needs a few simple changes to fit in better with the traditional look.
Those mirrors don't jive with the car no matter if it is a full billet street rod or a full on traditional rod. They look too stuck on as an afterthought rather than well thought out and blending in with the rest of the car. The tail lights have to go but that's an easy swap and they go in the swap meet box to go to some street rodder who will think they are the hot lick along with the billet gas cap.
The wheels, Buick, Chrysler or the Mopar small car wires were the hot lick in the mid 50's on a lot of rods and customs. On that car I don't find them offensive in the least.
The pinstriping is a bit much for me as I prefer just detail striping that rather leaves your eye completely at about 30 ft and isn't really noticeable much outside of about 10 ft. 80% of the women who walk past the car will rave about it and love it though.
The billet trinkets on the engine, well they are billet trinkets aren't they. A guy might paint or powdercoat them engine color though. Unless the particular car is all about the engine in it I am not a fan of open hoods anyhow so leaving the hood closed in public works for me.

Yuppers about one good day of taking off and putting on a few pieces and you are done and ready to drive and grin like a big Chessie Cat. That color is perfect and I wish I had the paint code.

 

I'll bet that back seat would be like sitting on your living room sofa.

 

I have nothing to add except that's a damn nice car.
