I thought about the half spring idea as well, I just have not decided. I may try independent, may not. Like you I am building this my way which may very well be a blend of old and new. Call it a mixer rod lol.

I do kind of lean toward a traditional concept though.

Yeah do what you like. Are you going to be running fenders? And I have a Mustang II under my model a and it drives well. It's kind of old and new as well.

    Thanks man

No fenders, I looked at a model A at recent run that had the indepentent suspension with no fenders and it looked good.

Any plans available for that cool frame?

Yeah I've seen a few, although I'm gonna agree with John that on a fenderless car a straight axle looks better IMO. Hey, it's your car though do what you want with it as long as you're happy. And I have the sketches of the frame somewhere I just gotta find them. Didn't I send you something a while back?

Preciate it sir hopefully one day it will be driving :)

Looking good man..I'm using a MustangII front end. Do agree axels look better. I was more into a 500hp go cart. Something that cornered really good. Did'nt think I could get that with an axel. Keep up the good work, hell I think your going to beat me done. I've only been at it 1 1/2 years. Here's some pic's of mine.

Man I like that! And as far as the MII I ain't like some of these guys that hate them, I have one under my model A, but for the look i'm goin for on this car I wanted a straight axle. And yea that will be fun when you get it done and should handle pretty well too. And with 500 hp that thing will be everywhere you need something to (attempt to) keep it straight ha. Good luck man

    Hey, Ben;

 I am puzzled by the year of your coupe. The '31 typically has the square front roof corner for a sun visor above the windshield like yours. The '32 roof is rounded like on the '32 Ford. Can you straighten this out??

    Regards, Twobit

 Sorry, big time senior moment. The only '31 picture is in post #3, not Ben's '32.

    Sorry, regards, Twobit

Yeah I got the 4 link parts from paul hortons welder series (www.welderseries.com). He has a kit for a triangulated 4 link but I didn't get it because the lower bars were too long and I made a couple brackets myself (didn't need his). I would definitely recommend his stuff though and the customer service was good too. Good luck!

Thanks and yea I'm keeping this thing well documented to say the least ha

Preciate it everyones nice words go a long way

First off, hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! Got my 4 link tacked in place and everything where it should be with lower bars runnin uphill 4 degrees and top bars downhill at 8 degrees. Need some coil-overs now (I know, not "traditional" haha) and then I'll have me a rolling chasis. Heres some pictures...

Thanks very much for your business, and the link.

...just curious why you went with heims on the lower frame brackets?

No problem and thanks for the great product. And I went with the heims one because the frame tapers in towards the front and two I had them laying around. I may still run 4 bar ends like on top but I'm gonna get the car a little more together and see how things work out first.
