I've done searches and have seen some comments on this, but nothing definitive on what's involved in making this happen. I have a 1927 Model T roadster body on a Model A frame. The stock dash is a little torn up, plus a little small for the gauges I want to use, so I'm considering using one of the "universal" 1932 dashes that Brookville sells. I'm imagining grafting the top of the stock dash onto the lower part of the Brookville dash, but suspect the '32 dash is too wide for the earlier body? That complicates things. Howell's also sells a universal '32 dash and claim it works great on '26-'27 cars, but I'd like to hear from someone who has actually done this. So, does anyone have first hand experience with making one of these dashes fit a '27? Thanks
I am in the process of using a '32 style dash from Brookville on my '27 Coupe. The dash that I have is a '32 style dash for a '28-'29 Coupe that I got from Kenny's Rod and Kustom out of Ohio, from EBAY for $140 plus $15 shipping. I believe that I seen one for the '27 Roadster but I could be wrong. After doing a dry fit, I noticed that the top radius of the '32 style dash is just a hair off from the windshield radius of the '27 Coupe which is no big deal. It is still a nice fit. I might add the strip to the top of it but the closed windshield will cover it if I do not weld the strip. The only other mod that I will have to do is drill new screw holes for the bottom screws. There is no lengthening or shortening to be done for mine. Hope this helps you.
