I am posting some photos of my 1932 3 window g***er, and am in need of some advice.
This car raced in Georgia from 1957-1967, and sat in a chicken coupe for 43 years. I got the car as it sat since 67. There was no motor, transmission, rear end, brakes, gl***, etc.. I wanted to get the car done and racing for Eaglefield by mid May, and met my deadline.
I replaced the door wood, back window wood, all gl***, most of the hardware, put a 401 Buick, a 4 speed, 1957 olds Rear end, floors, 1/4 panels, Buick drums up front, magnesiums on all 4's etc.. Most of this stuff I had in stock, and that is why I went with it.
My question for you is where do I go from here? The body is super solid, it's just not real pretty. In 1957 it raced in black and lower in the front. I thought about doing that, but the white tells a story as well. I would like to drive the car without scaring kids and little old ladies.

First off, congrats on the find, and good job on the parts selection. Very cool.

Hard decision on if to paint or not IMO. If you paint the body and leave all the old features like taillights, barn door trunk hinges, etc, nobody will think it is a gennie old racer?

Please don't change the taillights :) I have a pair of 3w rears with 41/48 chev lights mounted vertically like yours. Nobody remembers fenders with lights, it seems..

I saw the car for sale a few years ago in Knoxville. I have no history other than what is already floating around, but it's WAY cool.

Somebody here will know. Glad to see you got it together and at the same time, left it alone....

    Great car.

One of my favorite cars in a long while. I wanted to trade for it so bad when it came to Autofair.

Where do you go from here? Uh, Route 66, Pacific Coast Highway, New England during the fall... anywhere and everywhere any chance you get! :D Every car gathering in your area. Keep it safe and make it reliable and drive that PERFECT hot rod you brought back PERFECTLY. That, my friend, is an EPIC machine.

Nice coupe!!! I love it right down to the VW buckets!!! I'd enjoy it the way it is for a while if it was me, not saying I'd never paint it. When you paint it it takes the fun out of a car like this. You can pound on it and not worry about the paint now:D

I'm glad this car stayed as a race car instead of turning into some monochromed streetrod. I ooggled over it when it was at the autofair two years back. I say leave it as is, perfect patina.

    THEY ARE ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure everybody knows, but this car was in Hot Rod Deluxe a few years ago when Charlie owned it here in Tennessee. The pics were from Brainerd Dragstrip in Chattanooga where it ran in the '60's.

So glad it's making p***es again.

I'm going to go against the grain and say, paint in the same color as it was originally painted, decals and all.

I realize there is temptation to change it - but it is really special the way it is. I would enjoy it as is.

The only thing that would make this car any cooler is if it were mine. I wouldn't change a thing as long as it's safe. Drive that thing every chance you can!!!!

I've got a 1/25 scale model of a '32 three window that I've been trying to figure out how I was going to build it and I think I just found my inspiration.

The patina is perfect. People spend a lot of money to get that look.
