Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by mike hamel, Sep 5, 2009.

  1. Man, I know of a secret 5 window CHOP!
Not sure i can show it... I'll ask. Haven't seen one with this ballzy of a chop!

  2. This is a good buddy of mine, he chops em hard. Love this guy, he doesn't care what anyone thinks... he builds them the way he wants, doesn't care if you like em or not. Chop it!

I judge all chops by the way the rear windows look. I'd build the car with the body as it is and think about changing things once is is on the road.

Bought the body with a 3" chop, and rechopped it another 1 1/2".
    I'm 6' 2", and fit great.
    Do it!!!!!

Rather then doing any more chopping perhaps focus on getting it on the road. If you devote your energy to that you'll be on the road well before your 21st and then you can make up your mind about the chop.

I say leave it alone... What you think is cool at 19 you wont think is cool when you're 30, 40, etc... '32's are hard to find and you should plan on owning that car forever.

I am all for a 4" chop on a '32 but if it was done by the Kennedy Bros then I would leave it. That would be a pretty cool feature on the car for them to have had a part.

You're only 19 - try to remember that the Kennedy Bros. ( I know them ) have well over 19 years combined experience chopping expensive cars. You will never be able to chop a car as well as they do, and most people on here can't accomplish what they can do. I have seen over 20 of their chops and unchops and they are masterpieces. LEAVE IT ALONE.

IMO, more often than not ya have to make your own luck, aint nothin' lucky 'bout that. Patience, planning and persistance pays off, hey Jeffery.

With the exception of this little tale perhaps; http://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=6002

A hard chop does not make the car different from the rest.

My old 32 was supposed to be chopped and I was gonna do a hard chop too. In the end the car looked great unchopped. I tried my best to come up with something just a little different but not too far out there.

If you want something different...try using different parts. Your parts collection looks like what everybody else wants for their car. Using the same parts everybody else is using creates a car just like everybody elses'. Not bagging on your collection....you've got some real nice stuff there.

I think the 5 window is the best 32 model. I own a chopped and a full fendered uncut one. Frank

I can't imagine a way to make a deuce ford look unique without ruining what makes a deuce a deuce. If you want a unique ride trade the ford out for a more unusual ride like a Chevrolet or even a Studebaker. And I don't know if I'd mess with a Kennedy bros. chop. But you seem to be a ****y guy with more money than brains or taste so I don't know if you came here for advice or to brag that you are 19 and holding a '32 chopped by the Kennedy's.

I'd say put it together the first go around just like you have it, with the parts that you have collected. I bought my first 32 fiver body when I was 20 knowing exactly what I wanted, chop it hard... 4" chop and channel it 3". When you go hard right away, it makes it very difficult to change when you decide you want to do something different a few years down the road. I'd say leave it like it is for now. Put all your parts on it to see how your parts work with each other. If the proportions are begging for a harder chop, then chop it more. When I wanted to change mine, I sold it...to much work I thought... Good luck with your build!
