History 1932 Ford Deluxe 3W Coupe, Murray Body # informal registry,how many are still around?

    Actually the number is a Murray serial number it has no connection to the engine at all. Ford put the body on the chassis and then at that time the engine designation was stamped along with the Ford identification number. If the car was powered by the 1932 four cylinder engine the letter B into the frame then followed by the Ford serial numbers. If the 1932 Ford V-8 engine was in the frame the number 18 was stamped then followed by the Ford serial number. The letter after the 8520 on my body is A which has no connection to any Ford engine in 1932. The leeter A or B is related to the Murry body only. Not sure what that difference is maybe if it was rumble deck lid or conventual. My body is a conventual trunk lid.

    I don’t think this one has been posted yet. It’s not mine, it was sold at auction last fall for a very reasonable price. The new owner is on the HAMB.
