I'm building a 1932 Ford ch***is with a 1937 Ford flathead, transmission , and rear end. I'm using American Stamping boxed frame, I installed a "X member(from Clarke Hot Rods - Florida) with brake & clutch pedals. I wanted to get some ideas on clutch linkage. I do not want to use a hydraulic slave cylinder. Prefer to use mechanical linkage. I will enclose photos tomorrow of the brake & clutch pedal installed on the X-member. I was thinking of using a cross shaft behind the master cylinder with a long shaft to push back with forward travel to push the clutch arm. But open to other ideas. Thanks for any help. Photos would be helpful. M.ralph
can a shaft be pinned to the clutch pedal and spin through the brake pedal like on the 39 ford pedals?
I'm awake 3W Larry, I got some parts today for my 32 5 window , so I worked on it. Cadiacoffin, that was my thought also to pin the clutch pedal to the shaft. It has a pin locking the shaft to the housing. After looking at it better , there is no bushings and the housing is too short on the right side, so the length of the shaft would be extended too far without support. I talked with a friend today and he used a 1939 Ford brake & clutch pedal ***embly that worked out great for him with the similar X-member setup. So I need to find a 39 unit.
